LOL Car shop

A quote from the sign up page for a new car sales shop. LOL

"COMPLETE on-line survey form and UPLOAD your required receipt(s) via website by 10am CT the day immediately following your shop date. ALL RECEIPTS MUST BE ITEMIZED! Credit card slips that do not list items purchased/ordered cannot be accepted. Receipt/documentation can be either scanned images or clear digital photos, uploaded directly to our website by selecting the Upload Receipts / Shop History link from our Shopper Main Menu."
Buying a new car on a credit card? LOL Doing so while on a mystery shop? ROTFLMBAO
I saw this last month too. Hard to believe they haven't noticed the absurdity of it.

Not absurd. A former coworker bought her car using a credit card so she could get the rewards. She paid the card off the following month. It was an interest free loan for her.

But I bet it wasn't for a mystery shop smiling smiley

An ex did the same thing.

In this instance (MSing), I'm sure its just the standard template the software uses. Depending on the MSC that's where I might upload the other required docs - like the business card.

I opened an AMEX the same day I bought my car and put the downpayment on it. Ended up with 65,000 Delta miles in one transaction.

My ex did as well. He got a ton of airline miles for it. Yes, he paid it off the next month.
If someone has the cash in hand for a down payment, why not use a rewards card? Instead of writing the dealer a check, they can write the credit card company one the same day.

Back to the shop, it is entirely possible the MSC also has service shops for the same brand and didn't remove that part of the guidelines for the sales shops.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Many dealerships just won't take a card even for the downpayment. They just don't want to pay the fees.

When my coworker pulled out her card to pay for the car, she said dude had a fit over the fees.

I wish I thought of using my credit card for the down payment, yes 2 years no interest.

They’re not exactly required to accept the card.

True, but they would have to give me something major in return for not getting what the credit card offered.

Dang it -- wish I had thought of this when I paid a down payment on mine a few years ago. I put down $11,500 from a payout of previous car (someone slammed into it and totaled it out). That coulda earned me some points, for sure!

Just bought a new-to-me car at Carmax, naturally putting it on my card to get mileage- they never batted an eye, and it was over 20k!
