Overall, I have had pretty good luck with editors. I've had several shops disqualified. One was totally inappropriate and I fought with the editor and scheduler about payment. I got on the banned list for auto shops for this company. It was intellishop. It took approximately 6 months to get off the banned list to do auto shops again.
I have been able to talk several editors back into paying me. Sometimes they can be Gruff and not even ask a question but just disqualify. I had this recently happen on a phone shop that paid very well about food. I had to record all my conversations. This was very good because in the end when I was told I was not supposed to ask about a particular item I responded by stating did you listen to the recording? Sure enough, 30 minutes later I got an email stating the shop was approved.
The maddest I've been was a disqualification that I was not even told about. I saw it in my comment section regarding a report that the report could not be used and was disqualified. I did not even receive a notification from the editor about it.
I was also angry at a recent high-end retail shop. The tapes were watched allegedly. They stated I was carrying a yellow legal pad during the shop. I insisted this was not me. I never carry a legal pad with me during a shop. They asked for my photograph and for description of myself. They still insisted that I was carrying a legal pad. Therefore, they stated my shop was disqualified.
No one likes being disqualified. However, it is so irritating when you're not told it's being disqualified in order to defend yourself.
I recently got a request two weeks after a shop for an additional picture of my receipt. I was traveling internationally and did not have access to the receipt other than the photograph I had already provided. I reminded the shop company than I have been over 2 weeks but that I could get the information in about 1 week. Thankfully they were cooperative and waited my return to the states to avoid the additional photograph. I just thought it was ridiculous that my shop was not being reviewed for two weeks.
And by the way, the earlier Shopper who's disgusted with another editor with a pizza company. I too have found one and etre and all the hundreds of shops I do that continually makes me mad in her comments. She is the most difficult editor I've worked with and makes assumptions. It's a terrible paying job with a reimbursement. However I continue to help out for some time because I liked the scheduler and she was desperate. However, I could not take the editor anymore and quit doing the shops.
I have found the best way to deal with editors is to be polite and gracious. They can make or break your acceptance of a report. They can also see you get banned from companies and or certain types of shops with companies. So take a big breath and be patient.
