Anyone else pre-fill in some data to shorten report time later?

I have some reports that I pre-fill in just to avoid as much typing later but I don't know if this would be an issue or not since I "save" the info and go back to it. I dunno if companies get an alert or not and raise en eyebrow during editing.

It's just easier for me to pre-fill in the date, day of the week, name of the manager of a building, the street address, what it is located near, etc. Just one less thing to deal with. It hasn't been an issue in the past but another poster asked a question about sending reports in late after saving and if it went through or not and it got me wondering...

Yeah, I do that sometimes. I don't know if companies know or not and I don't know if they care, no one has eve said anything about it.
*As I furiously type in the above mentioned information into my forms for the 2 shops I'm going to do on the way home from work*

I haven't had any issues over the last 3 years of shopping, but I always double check things. Once, a building manager actually changed hands so all my info was inaccurate. Surprise!

No. What I do is fill in some surveys a little at a time. My bad. I should stop typing on the phone and do somethimg else.

Yes. Whatever I can do to work more efficiently.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Market force has an issue with that. If the report was pre filled 2 days before the shop is due, they invalidate it. If you do that the same day before visiting, no issues. I had 3 of mine invalidated. Others I work with had no problems.
I only had an issue with doing that once. I prefilled some information on a report the day before and then saved it. When I went back later, the report had already received a rating even though I wasn't even close to finishing it. They gave me a 10 which was really curious since I don't know how I could get a 10 for an incomplete report. I emailed the evaluator about it but I didn't get a response and the rating stood. Part of the report included waiting to see if I got a follow-up call from the person I spoke with. While I was waiting to get the follow-up, I received an email from the scheduler asking why I hadn't finished yet. I pointed out the wait for follow-up and the fact the evaluator had already given me a rating for the job. I never heard back from the scheduler either. I did finally finish it and I still got my 10.

sassymmmm, because if all you were waiting on was a followup, the editor looked at the bulk of the report and thought you did an outstanding job on it?

Actually at that point all I had done was the pre-fill. I had not done any of the regular part of the shop. That's why it was so funny that I got a 10 rating for a shop that wasn't even close to being finished. lol

I don't pre-fill, but I will write narratives out in word (pre-visit call, etc.) and then copy everything over when I sit down to complete the report.
I don't pre-fill. If I have time and the guidelines don't say I'm not allowed, I will write narratives in Word and save to the cloud.

The majority of my prelim work is done on my iPad & it's easier to stop for a break or do a marathon of writing reports.

If I have a massive shop run, I try to record, to jog my memory at the end of the day.

I don't. For most of my shops they can see the info on the other end once it's saved. For many of the MF ones, they have someone sitting there waiting for you to hit the submit button.
