Does this sound like the target got fired to you?

Last month I did a targeted new home shop. The appointment was scheduled and I showed up. The agent however did not. I received a phone call about a half hour before my appointment from a number I did not recognize and NO voicemail was left. Later I found out it was the targets cell phone. Anyway... I showed up to the appointment and waited around, I called which is on record then another agent called. The target agent had the audacity to say she was there and I was not. Seriously? I was sitting in the drive at 10:04 and called you at 10:06 for an appointment at 10:00. She then told the other agent that she had to get to her other job... then why did you schedule the appointment?

The other agent attempted to help me. Today I get a follow up email from the non-targeted agent saying, " I wanted to inform you that (insert name) is no longer operating out of The Name of Subdivision."

I removed her name and the location.

Think she was fired?

Strange question - did you post part of this story either here or another place? Because the first part of the story sounds familiar.

And yes, it does sound like they were let go.
No, I did not post this anywhere else. I received the email the day I asked the question.
Ok. Someone else had a really similar story to yours, about the person not showing up then. That's really funny. And sad that it happens that often.
I don't think it necessarily means that - it means she is no longer there for whatever reason...other job pays better, gave her more hours, just wasn't her thing.

I think she was fired.

I had a similar shop once. A community wasn't selling as well as the company thought it should and wanted video of the sales agent to see what was wrong. I show up on the day she was supposed to be there. Nobody there. The construction manager sees me, tries to help but I excuse myself. Contacted the scheduler to let her know what happened. Few days later we were emailing about a different location and I asked if she needed me to reshop that one. She replied with a "no, they found out what they needed to know."

This may have been more than once she did this and three strikes and your out.

I have arrived at a new home appointment and been totally stood up. I called my scheduler who called the client. I was asked to wait 20 minutes while the client tried to locate the agent to see if she was somewhere in the project. When the agent still did not show, the MSC insisted that I be paid 100% for a video shop with travel bonus. I was also invited to take my pick of upcoming video shops for that MSC. More and more big video MSCs are insisting that their shoppers get paid for such shops when the target stiffs them.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
