Booze/Cig Shops. Do you ever feel guilty?

I am too old now, but my fiance is still young enough to do cigarette/ID shops. Last week a young woman who was pregnant allowed him to buy cigarettes with no ID. Of course, he had to tell the manager and report the store. He thought about just not reporting, but just his luck they would check cameras or something. What a shame.

Nope. Do your job right and you wouldn't have to worry about it in the first... Especially when it's a way to protect kids from poisoning their bodies worse than fast food.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
This is why I haven't signed up for the revealed booze shops, I feel like I would be too embarrassed to report it to the manager at the end.
If it's the company doing the shop, you've just saved them thousands and thousands of dollars in fines. I'm betting they retrained rather than fired a pregnant woman -- too much potential to claim it was for something else. I wouldn't do the state ones (and they're always recruiting here) because then you are potentially killing someone's livelihood for a brief lapse in judgment.

Just know you weren't the first and wouldn't be the last one she did this to. You are hired for this EXACT REASON! Better it happens to you than someone brought in by the Government. If she loses her job just know this: He didn't get her fired - she got herself fired. If she had done her job right she wouldn't be in trouble. She did not so she is. AS SHE SHOULD BE!

What is to feel guilty about? Perhaps because of the fiance/shopper's actions, someone will be prevented from getting hooked on this deadly product. The only thing to feel guilty about is not directly intervening and mentoring the woman about the injury she was about to cause her fetus.
I used to, but it's not my fault that the cashier didn't check my ID. It's not like I'm writing something subjective and trying to get the cashier fired.

The pregnant lady was only selling the cigarettes not smoking them.
