$1 ooh!! I can't turn that down -_-

I received a call from an MSC about a local fast food chain that I shop regularly. The scheduler said the shop needed to be done in the next four hours, and asked if I'd do it for $13 + reimbursement. I told her that the location was across town, and that I'd have to change all of my plans for the day. I stated that I'd need quite a bit more than $13 to conduct the shop. She then asked me if I would accept it for $14!! Really?! I told her I would need a minimum of $50 + reimbursement, and she sounded as if she was offended by my offer. Do shoppers accept shops when they're offered $1 more? $50 seems reasonable to me when the deadline is in 4 hours.

I would only take the shop if I liked the food, if I was going to be in the area and I was hungry.

Why do they get so offended at our counter offers?

Because the more they offer in an counter means the less $$$ in their pocket.
Just gotta establish a good sweet spot, then continue to higher your demand with everything shop thereafter.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I have been getting $40 for burgers for a while now...I have a female scheduler who calls and I always ask for that and NEVER get it. There is a male schedule that calls and I nearly always get it from him. I'm just going to stick to that number...although I am tempeted to just ask the female for more since I never get it anyway.
I'm happy to do the shop for the regular fee as long as I'm in the area and needing lunch. However, if they want me to drop everything and go immediately, I expect a lot more. The way I see it, I'm helping them out. I once got paid $150 to do a shop that was an hour and a half from me. I was going to be in the area anyways, but the MSC didn't need to know that winking smiley
I regularly get calls to do a burger shop 51 miles from me. I guess they have no shoppers there to do it. They offer a little more, maybe $20. sometimes. It’s just not enough to go 100+ miles. Last time I told them no I couldn’t do it for that. They wanted to know how much. I said $35.00 I should have asked for more but I really didn’t think I’d get the shop. Well, to my surprise when I checked it was in my account. Next time I’ll ask for more. I did go into my account and change the distance on miles to shorten it up some.
