YELLOW ARCH NEEDS SHOPPED BADLY

Now I have to admit I NEVER shopped them when they had a program. I really dont eat there that much , but the few times I have gone to different ones their service is slow as molasses. Yesterday I was in the drive tgru 10 minutes .The line was not long, but the line was not moving. I was in line with 10 minutes and even make it to the menu board.

Different locations, different opinions....My McD's is the best, moves quickly (even during rush hour), with a smile, how are you today, do you want your receipt, and a thank you.....every time. I get my dollar Iced tea daily.

Live consciously....
I agree with Irene. I mystery shopped McD's for years and I would love to shop them again. It was easy money for a fast lunch as far as I'm concerned. But, in honesty, they seem to be doing better with customer service now than they did when they were shopped. In my location, they have always been very fast, and, unfortunately, that's almost all the mystery shops seemed to concentrate on. Of course, it may not be the same way everywhere. I live in an area that is a very, very competitive fast food market - any that don't give fast, good service close.
I live in a rural area anf maybe there is noy enough competition out here. Its,not just one of tgem but several. Tgry all seem to be run by the same franchise, so it might be the franchise
The one closest to us -- always failed to input my order correctly. The turnover is so high, no one can work their register, and their machines do not automatically apply the same "directions" for grill slips of two items in a combo... so if you get a two cheeseburger meal without ketchup, they have to manually enter no ketchup on both. That could just be the machines in the ones here through whoever owns their franchise...

Two crispy ranch wraps, no lettuce. But the cashier usually rings in the wrong wrap type or only applies 'no lettuce' to one wrap.

Sometimes they're grilled, other times grilled with lettuce, sometimes they are crispy with lettuce or one of them has lettuce while the other does not. One time, I got plain chicken wraps. And by the time you "just pick it off" there isn't any ranch or cheese left in the dang thing.

They're not slow, they just goof up my order 9 of 10 times. Fries are always hot, unsweetened tea is always fresh (strangely).

I digress. I gave up on wraps and just started ordering strips.

The one closest to me had the nicest morning staff. They were pleasant and fast. Then within 6 weeks all the employees left, and the new folks were quite slow. It would take 15 minutes or more in the drive through and there was no way to exit the line.

The final time I went there, after waiting 20 minutes I just couldn't wait any longer and looked in my rear view mirror and thought I could back up out of the line. So I put the car in reverse and CRASH! There was a Honda Accord right behind me. How I missed a car that size when I looked in the mirror, I'll never know. The only damage was to my car, which was fair.
The McDonalds in my area have gotten way slower since the end of the MS program. Like everything else, I'm sure it varies by region.

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley
Drink the coffee, sip the tea, but please don't eat the food. Chris, it was a sign to not go back
I'd love to say its location, location, location. Sadly, in my experience it's the shift. Crack of dawn on my routes, food is fresh, hot & service is excellent. Heading home, stopping at same store when afternoon rush is almost over. Food is cold, including the fries. Service is slow and the employees are surly. The difference between the shifts...early morning the employees are older, the afternoon shift are teenagers with a manager who isn't much older.

I could live with cruddy food and service, but now they don't care about the lavatories. Years ago as a travel agent I was confident telling my clients they could find a clean restroom anywhere a McD's was located in the world. Now finding a clean lavatory that is properly stocked is next to impossible on my routes in TX.

I've mentioned it to employees a couple of times. The answer has generally been..What do you want me to do about it & the manager on duty backed them up.

And McD's continues to change up the menu, when they should focus on service and cleanliness.

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning; the devil shudders...And yells OH #%*+! SHE'S AWAKE!
This is what happens when the managers whine and blame the mystery shoppers for low scores, instead of using the honest poor reports as tools to improve. I don't feel badly for the yellow arches at all.
Maximum time I spent in a DT was 49 minutes. On a shop! In addition to many employees' lackadaisical attitude, I think a major factor is the company's need to have EVERYTHING on the menu. Burgers, chicken, frozen drinks, fancy coffee, parfaits, salads. And now, breakfast all day? How many different things can be done at once, and quickly? Way too many options, and none of them good.
I used to shop for them and they were fast! But the other day we pulled in for a "quick snack", OMG it took forever!

Are you from the Midwest? They are the only ones I've met who phrase things like that ("needs shopped," "needs cleaned" etc).

Why not just do what everyone else does and either complain to the manager or the 800 number probably on your receipt or yelp? I must admit sometimes I question the need for mystery shopping when there are so many ways to get feedback.
McDonald's doesn't care about customer service. People will continue to go there because of the cost and convenience. Whether or not a customer waits 2 minutes or 10 minutes in the drive-thru makes no difference to them. I personally won't give them my business after they stopped their mystery shopping program.
I read somewhere that the MCD's franchisee's are pulling out like crazy due to the new menu requirements that put more demands on the staff. They can't serve all the choices quickly like they used to and the menu keeps expanding.

Crappy food, slow service and dirty bathrooms. McDonalds what happened to you?? The last time I ate there was on a mystery shop and since they stopped I will probably not eat there again. When I was in college a Big Mac was our favorite hangover cure. Not sure why it worked, probably all the salt and fat, but it did work. Cannot imagine trying now to chow down a Big Mac now but I don't suffer from hangovers anymore.

Agreed. Only time I'd go there without any coupons would honestly be for the coffee and maybe an Egg McMuffin if I'm in a bind and need a quick, decently healthy bite. If there's anything McDonald's has done right, it's their coffee.
