Bank shops

There are two bank shops paying a decent amount ($65 each) relatively close to where I live. It's great for me because I'm in a rural area and shops are sometimes scarce. My only concern is that in the description it says I would be responsible for the costs associated with closing the account. I don't need 2 more bank accounts and I don't want to tie up $50 to make $130.00 minus the account closing costs. I can't find any information in the general description of what those fees would be. I don't want to accept the assignments without knowing. I've written to the person (2 x's) who is sending out the invites but that person never got back to me. Any suggestions? The shop is being offered by KSS International.

You can try calling anonymously to the bank and ask that as a general question. You may want to call each bank and make sure you get the same answer.
I would not open a bank account for $65. You can get way more and without the chore of a report.

Google bank account bonus
If it costs $25 to open the accounts, you can immediately withdraw up to the minimum balance requirement which may be only $5.00 or $1.00.

Many banks have un-announced bonuses. The bankers won't tell you about them unless you ask for them. Do a little research as mentioned above. Google "bank account bonus" For example BOA has a $100 bonus for opening an account. There are restrictions. Google "bank account bonus".

You can always open the second account as a "special" account and say it's for a project such as a major renovation and you'd like to track all expenses through that account.

If you can get the bonus and the shopper pay on top of that I think it might be worth tying up $10 for a couple of months. You'd also have to check for monthly account fees, which may be waived for the first couple of months.

$65 shop fee
$100 account opening bonus
--------
$165
-$ 10 monthly account fee
-$ 10 monthly account fee
-$ 10 monthly account fee
-$ 25 account closing fee
-------
$120 to you per account

This is just an example, you'd have to find out what fees and restrictions apply.

Also, ATH has bank account opening shops that pay more like $85 and higher if you can speak a foreign language for the shop.

Pinnacle also has account opening shops, but the ones in my area now require a video shop. These are normally located in Wal-Mart stores.
If you have a MidFirst they are paying a $150.00 bonus with a few hoops to jump through.
There are no closing costs. You just need to keep your money in for a week or so before closing the account. Easy shops. The bank has an 800 number you can call as well.
Just find out what the bank and do your own research. Fees could mean just monthly maintenance fees, unless you can get them waived with a monthly minimum average balance, a quantity of debit card transactions, a minimum direct deposit per month or a combination of. There are almost always no closing account fees; just make sure you're not in the negative with your balance in your account.

Thanks everyone- I was especially surprised when I did the google check about opening bank accounts- and the rest were all great ideas too-
I've earned about $1500 just by opening accounts this year. I only do the bank accounts for a foreign language. I did one last year and one this year, an extra $200 the other was $250. Those $60 accounts really too much work for the pay imo. Maritz needs to stop being so cheap especially considering all of the shady stuff that bank is known for.

For that Maritz shopped bank, it could be an easy $200 checking account signup bonus the bank's already offering to stack onto the $60 base fee, if you don't already have an account with them.

The fees that can be incurred with a new account at this institution are maintenance fees if the account is not funded in time, overdraft charges, stuff like that. This bank doesn't charge for early closing unless it's a special circumstance.
