Roll Call Who is heading to IMSC in Las Vegas?

I fly to LV today. Who else will be there for the Nov 6-7 conference (or more days if doing video training)? My name tag will have Walesmaven written below my first name. Looking forward to meeting many forum members.

Couldn’t make it this time but I hope to go to the next one. Have a safe and fun filled trip!

Lucy, there will be another IMSC conference in Atlanta in May 2018.

I will be there... Flying in tomorrow night though and staying til Wednesday night (not doing the video training, just taking a day for myself away from 5 kids!)
That may work out - we have friends near Atlanta.

See ya tomorrow! I'm on the fence about adding my screen name to my name tag.

Hoju, when I went to one of the IMSC conferences I didn't put my screenname on my nametag but I confided in Wales when I saw hers who I was. She never let on to anyone else smiling smiley
Met Hoju and had nice long chat Sunday afternoon. Hotel has a main entrance onto The Linq, a pedestrian only zone full of great restaurants and bars, leading right to the entrance to theHigh Roller sky shell observation wheel. It is a quiet area just off The Strip and unlike the noise typical of LV. There is a huge garden area at the hotel with many species of water birds and tropical foliage. Very tranquil place to stroll or sit to enjoy.

5 hours was definitely a nice long chat! It was a pleasure, Ma’am.
I was up at 4:30am and already sent my breakfast back because it came out completely cold.
200 mystery shoppers in town and still they can’t grt it right. smiling smiley

We got in last night. I think I see that wonderful garden you're talking about out of our window. If not there's another in Garden area with water running and some really nice foliage. It may be a challenge to find the conference this morning this place is huge. See you all there.

You mean in Atlanta? Or are you already in LV? You can go to the IMSC website to find out about the conference price and other details.
I might actually go to Atlanta. My MIL works in the city for her job -- she does HUD approval and renewal paperwork for minority families. That isn't exactly her job title -- but she has been in the area for about 8 months. She would probably house me so I'd be out drive time if I can suck it. Is it worse than Raleigh, Richmond, Columbus, Huntsville, DC or Roanoke? Ah, I'll suck it up. grinning smiley

Atlanta early registration is $79.

Since Hoju was not staying at the conference hotel, I doubt that his cold breakfast was prepared there.

The final count was 200 shoppers. plus many MSC reps/sponsors, etc. I never signed in so I am not included in that shopper count, I suspect. I do not know if the other speakers were included.

luckygitrl,
Some came / paid for only one of the days. Some wanted day 1 others wanted day 2, so that is probably the difference. There is always an option to buy just one day of attendance and that is often what the most local of the attendees do. The head count is based on registrations on site.

You are quite the sassy pants when you're behind your keyboard, young lady!

Wales - I never found you, maybe next time. I got in late Monday, went to some of the sessions Tues. All day video training today. I'm still here, leaving in morning. I enjoyed it tremendously and learned lots. Took pictures of the flamingos, very peaceful, it was my favorite spot. Saw a good looking bald guy, but I think he was too short to be BGriffin, lol. I had a nice conversation with CureMS, very sweet person.
So sorry to have missed you entirely. I spent much of the second day in the Talon workshops because it is a technology that I am determined to master.

CureMS is a great shopper and mentor; and she is almost as good a shopper as she is a person!

The short bald guy has been to every IMSC conference sine the very first one. I do not think they could run a conference without him!

IMHO it was the best program of speakers ever. But, I want to hear from those to whom this was a new experience.

I did not find most of the speakers/topics relevant to me. I have no interest in talon video and that was a large portion of day 2. I was really hoping for some new ideas about "pain avoidance, how to choose a shop" but most of the session was spent on how to control FB privacy settings and the only suggestion given was to ask to see the guidelines before committing to the shop. (Which common sense tells me to do anyway)
And although I think the world of Scott from Servimer (and enjoyed meeting him) he was asked to speak about integrity and THAT is common sense in this business. We are there to report what we see, no need for a 45 min presentation on it.
A rep from GFK also spoke and she was a charasamatic speaker but again the content was just common sense, take small jobs and deliver a quality report on time and you will be rewarded with better opportunities.
