“Tell him I need the receipt!”

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
Please let us know how this ends. Ya know, one of the most gripping posts this year involved a shopper's meal paid for by another party.
Failed mystery shop, but budding romance? That could turn out to be a fortunate turn of events??!! Or better yet, successful mystery shop and budding romance -- win, win!

"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl -- year after year..."
Question is, other than receipt, romance can blossom while shopping, who are we to say. let us know what happens without receipt. I had a boyfriend that always paid, but I took receipt, so for me a win win.

Live consciously....
hahahaha I have this happen frequently when I shop alone.

That just means you need to buy aniother drink.
HA! I had a bar shop a few years ago. I went alone as my husband had to work. The bar was empty except for me and the bartender. He makes conversation, then starts making me extra drinks, to "sample" (all his personal creations.) Luckily he had rang up my first drink before we started chatting. I got a little drunker than I should have, and my only thought when I left was "hey for a old lady ( was about 43 and the bartender was 25) I've still got it!"

Or he was just really bored.
Oh, no, I somehow missed that one! Any chance you have a link, or an idea of what to search for? smiling smiley

My ending is actually not so interesting tongue sticking out smiley I was just testing to see if the restaurant was accepting a form of Mobile Payment so the reimbursement was low (around $10) but it was happy hour and a beer was five bucks and olives were four dollars. I ended up only paying for the olives. The guy who paid for my drink nodded at me when I thanked him and I would have actually chatted with him but I was in a rush to get to a dinner party. He was cute!
