Video Shops

I am thinking about trying video shops and I have a few questions:
1. Is the PV500 device the best way to go?
2. What are some lower price alternatives to the PV500 device (i.e. Smart Phone + App)?
3. Any tips and tricks for a new video shopper.

The PV500 (or an upgrade) is the best way to go. Greyhawk offers them and is very reliable. You can find threads about the company on this forum.

Don't even try to use your phone for hidden video. You will struggle mightily go get quality video and remain hidden.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
Please stay tuned. You can get the best DVR set for mystery shopping made. We have it marked down to just about cost for Black Friday. www.greyhawkgear.com I can only advise you of the price one on one. I can't stop you from posting it, but if I post it I will violate my agreement with Lawmate on minimum advertised price.
* Make sure that you are ready to invest $300 (give or take) for the equipment. I bought my equipment straight from Lawmate. Greyhawk is fine way to go, too.
* I would start with a retail shop so that if you have an equipment issue, you can potentially try again.
* Check with the MSC with your shop for preferred training. Different companies have different preferences on some things.
* Practice. Plan on spending two or three hours making sure that you are comfortable with your equipment (including good camera angles) before you shop.

It's the only way to go. Most reputable video MSCs only want video from a PV500 as the devices have fewer equipment failures and the video quality is known.
