No More Jack

Hmmm..I actually like Jack in the box..guess you are all spoiled with 5 guys????...in my area these shops are at 16 dollars. I've done one of these for 15..and I didn't think it was that bad. After I got home and submitted the required photos; it hit me that. I think were all overthinking the shop itself..I think they literally want the pics taken and submitted while at the location..The only thing that sucks is if you do it this way no way to back up the photos

@Mermo, I've done close to 20 shops for the msc you've mentioned and have had no issues getting ahold of anyone by email or getting paid on time...what exact issue are you having?

My original issue with these shops were they were overloading my email and paying next to nothing, barely covering reimbusement LOL and I still have not completed one of these shops, even when they are bonused - just not my thing.

@JASFLALMT I'm sad you don't have the hockey pucks in Ohio, you're really missing out tongue sticking out smiley
Jack starts here at 7.00 then as they remain on the board goes up to 13/15.00...I've done about four because their on every corner. I take pic's then upload at home when doing report, they want the report within an hour .I have so many good burger shops now, have to pass this month, although I do think their level has risen 1/2 point and reports are so easy......when I actually start to like them, somethings wrong!!!

Live consciously....
I have the report open, on my internet browser, as I do the shop live. It is less irritating that way. I would not take this crap home. JITB was great when we were kids. They either sold or hired someone who does not realize that microwaving, or convection oven warming kills their foid .
The closest JITB is more than one hour from home. There are others spread out for miles/hours. I do not object to these shops. I find it difficult to build a day around JITB (and other designated mealtime) shops. If ever I can put together a do-able day that includes JITB, I will do the shop.

When they say you have to buy a drink, but it can be water, do they mean bottled water or can it be a cup of free water? I don't eat beef, so I was thinking I'd get the cheapest burger( which is that btw) for my dog and I could eat the fries. Is it work it at 9 bucks? They make it seem like its a super easy shop.
I asked for water and was given bottled water....try asking for a cup of water. I do them towards the end of the month for 13/15$ and the report is simple, no narrative, uploading four pic's basically.

Live consciously....
I have done a number of these when they were on my route AND when the pay was acceptable. I have given lots of food away.

IMO, these are not worth doing unless the pay is $12 or greater. I really only want to do them at $15, but it seems to really upset the scheduler to be asked for that, even if the offer is to handle several in an area.

Here are MY reasons:
1. I don't really care for the food.
2. You can't order what you might want or what's really appropriate for the time of day.
3. I do this work to make a living, not clog my arteries.
4.The lowest price meal you can get is the Jumbo Jack, fries and glass of (free) water. That runs anywhere from $4.09 to $4.50 at the places I've been. So at $7 you only net $2.50 and at $9, net $4.50, IF you get the absolute cheapest possible meal.
5. This is more than just an outside photo and go. You have to time it just right to snap the inside menu board photo and not be caught and wait if someone is in the bathroom. They have cameras trained on the outside menu boards, but the only way to get a decent photo of the board is to get out of your car or be far away from the board. If you are even just five more inches than usual away from the board, the clerk inside gets angry and yells at you that they can't hear you. Then you have to go find a place to park, unwrap food, snap more pics.
6.The fastest I have ever completed one of these was 12 minutes on location and another 15 minutes finishing photos and the report. At $7 pay, that's $5 an hour not including driving/gas expense (which I do consider) or the money float.
7. The above scenario happened exactly once. Most of the time, it takes longer, or they forget your receipt, say it was in the bag when you ask, then you have to park or drive back and go in to get it. At night, there have been several times when the time on location was over 30 minutes, then I still had to finish the report. And when the website is being cranky, the report can take another 30 minutes. In general, when these pay less than $12-15, I would really be making $2-4 an hour, then counting gas, doing it at a loss.
8. One night, at two different stores, the time just in the drive-through lane was 45 minutes at each place!!! Very frustrating and no I didn't get hazard pay.

The report isn't hard and doesn't take as long as most shops as long as the MSC's website is working properly (plenty of times when it wasn't and had to wait long times for the photos to upload). And the website times out much faster than the supposed 30 minutes - making it a pain to try to do while on location because you have to keep signing in or saving the report and reopening during a 25-minute shop. It would be better if they used one of the apps like MobiAudit, GoSpotCheck or Presto (though Presto can also be temperamental).

These shops are probably fairly paid at $15, but they rarely get there in areas within a 45-mile radius of me because plenty of people must take them at $8-$10.
Thanks for your reply. I only considered it because its about .5mile away from my house. I don't even eat beef, I would get the burger for my pups. I think I'll pass.
Jack is not busy in my area. I like one burger, but I hope they update to order whatever you want. It takes me 8-10 mins on site and 6-8 min for the report. I don't bither hiding the fact that I'm taking the pics, they know we are doing these.

Open shop on phone, Drive-thru, park far to the right, get out of car, order as you are taking the pic. Pick-up window, get receipt in hand, if they say it is in the bag, dont move until you check. Park, open burger, place fry bag/box in burger box, take pic, taste fries and bite burger 1.5 min. Take pic of receipt 7 seconds. Walk in, while walking in, take pic of menu board 37 seconds, take close up pic of menu board 3 seconds, prop either bathroom door open with foot, take pic 12 seconds. Check for supplies, turn on water 3 seconds. Do all this with report open, placing pics where they go. Answer remaining questions. Ha. Just did this at the JITB.
I’ve always been able to take the drive thru menu picture without getting out of my car. I just do it right before ordering. Sometimes it’s the pre order board and sometimes the board at the speaker. Never had a shop rejected.
I take a pic of the presell board, which is the entire menu, before pulling up to the board with the speaker. Never been questioned by employees or MSC.
@calicakes....watch the board too see how high they bonus it for this month for the location that is close to your house...once you see how high they go you can wait for it to get close to that amount in September .in my area I've seen them go as high as 15 to 20 dollars..I personally wouldn't do this shop for under 12 dollars...
I didn't think the report was that bad..

You literally have no narratives..
This msc does prefer the photos be uploaded while on site but I waited until I got home...if I were to do this shop again..I most likely would attempt to do the entire shop while on site. The only part I thought was a bit tricky was snapping a photo of the inside menu board unless they changed it..they say if an employee catches you and asks just say your taking the photo for your facebook..I personally really like this shop but I also like Jack in the box

They have to market the cardboard box in their business name because it tastes better than the food.
I don't want to block all emails from that particular MSC, but try setting up an email filter to send any email containing the word "burger" to your JUNK Folder.

I guess you don't have Habits in your area? If you block that, you won't get Habit Burger shops either.
I got some coupons in my weekly grocery ads. A jumbo jack, fries and a drink for 5 bucks. Now, if I can get a 15.00 shop, I'll do it with the coupon.
calicakes - In my area, we have the clown burger chain and the healthier chain you mentioned, but where I live the shops are offered by two diff MSC's. I have a filter set up to send email from........ and contains the word...... in the body of the msg to JUNK.

I am beginning to feel bereft. Left out of the whole JITB experience. The closest JITB has closed, and the next closest location is so far away that it must be squeezed into a two-day road trip. That cannot happen for a few weeks or months. Hmmph.

I counted 20 JITB's within 15 miles of me One is right across the street.
