SSN Pending

My ssn has been pending with a couple of companies almost two months. Is this common? These companies won't pay until it is verified. I appreciate any input.

It shouldn't take more than a day once they place the inquiry with the IRS. I would call them and remind them.
Are you unable to accept shops before it's verified? I don't recall that ever happening to me and I am signed up with about 100 companies.
There are a few companies that insist that you fill out an I-9 before paying you at all.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
NWLPC is the one I know off the top of my head... I just signed up for one two weeks ago that did... I think it was Impact... I’ve had a couple of others, but have lost track of which ones.

Which ones do that, may I ask?
Harland Clarke requires filling out an I9 before sending payment....I just did so recently.
I just got a grocery store shop rejected by Trend Source for missing a question. It makes me not want to do any more work for them. Is it just me? It seems like i read lots of stuff, spend money up front, and make an honest error, and there is no room for error for $8 and a reimbursement. There must have been five pages to memorize.
Yikes, that stinks. I do a grocery store for them, a small one. I was in Texas and had picked up some grocery store shops there, but once I read over the guidelines and saw everything they wanted me to do, I canceled them. The one I do here only has four departments and it's a super easy shop compared to the ones I ended up canceling!!!
It's very disheartening, I know. Especially when you feel like you're doing them a favor because the pay is not that great. I tend to look for shops that I can do again and again. Reading 64 pages for a gas station plus a 12 page update and 9 different addendums for 4 shops is not worth it, sometimes even when bonused.

Are there enough in your area so you can repeat shops and eventually re-coop some of this one?
I should have cancelled it. There are times I see the requirements and want to cancel but there are those comments on the webpages warning against it. Like I'm going to get a bad grade. I'm assuming if they reject a report, they don't use any part of it. A couple of companies have been nice about it. They correct me and still pay me. I need to avoid the ones that don't allow errors because I'm not that accomplished at this yet.
My area has plenty of shops. I need to pay close attention to the comments on this forum about good/bad experiences with certain companies and jobs. When I started mystery shopping I really liked it and got ahead of myself. I need to be more discerning for sure.
I got an email explaining the ssn issue at least for Intelli-Shop. I copied and pasted it below:

To our valued shoppers,

On behalf of the Intellishop team, I would like to thank you for joining our group. We appreciate and value the quality work that you do for us and our clients. I wanted to bring to your attention a situation that you may or may not be aware of. We are currently having difficult verifying Social Security Numbers with the IRS. It is a problem that we can’t solve ourselves, so we are at the mercy of other organizations.

We understand it is not your problem, so we will process payment for shops completed on or before December 31, 2017. Our payment date will be January 20, 2018. We are doing this in good faith and with sincere appreciation for your efforts. Please note that if we encounter any discrepancies when we are able to verify the social security numbers we may have to contact you at that time additional information.

Once again, we thank you for your service and hope to have you be a regular shopper on our behalf. Please be sure to check for future opportunities at [insite.intelli-shop.com]
