Is it just me -- Or are there less shops in 2018?

Nope, I suffered through football season because I loved to play music. I played guitar and keyboards as well, and I played and sang in some bands in the early 80s in the FWB area.

I love music, but I can't stand football (I kind of like "real" football, aka soccer). Thank goodness my husband isn't a fan of the game, either, so I don't have to be miserable all fall smiling smiley

I have been to Superbowl parties over the years but generally didn't pay attention to who is playing. I like the commercials and I go for the food and beverages. The only reason I know the Eagles won this year is because Jim Cramer on CNBC went on and on and on about it. He gives good stock info so I suffered through that as well smiling smiley

Ya'll don't give me much hope! I am actually in FWB. I'll venture to Miramar or Pensacola but I haven't really seen any shops that are worth driving any farther, like to Alabama. I MS more as a hobby (hence my preference for food/entertainment shops). There really are not enough shops to have success doing it full time here.
dafizisblue, I know you said you like restaurant and entertainment shops, but just so you know, Ath Power has some good paying bank shops in your area. I can look through my list for restaurant shops for you and get back with you about any MSCs that have those types of shops in your area. A Closer Look has a restaurant shop in Pensacola, but if you aren't already signed up with them and have completed shops for them, it might not be available to you as a new shopper. You can sign up and find out, though.
Second to None has a doughnut shop in Destin. The Source has a grocery store shop in FWB. Marketforce has fast food, grocery, and cell phone shops. Other than that, not seeing much in your area.
I miss my grocery shopssad smiley( Its been awhile. I like the food shops and BWW is gone in my area. Such an easy shop and never came back with any questions. BJ's is simple and still in my area. Mainly grocery stores BWW is gone in my area and I used to do them always. Now, I wait for bonus shops and make a lot more for such little work. Bye Bye $15 shops, really not worth it unless its MF!!
Small world. I taught at FWB two years agosmiling smiley My son graduated from there this past year! Btw, I found PLENTY of shops in the two years I lived there. I shopped from Pensacola to Destin mainly (went for a couple of big bonuses in Panama City).

@dafizisblue contact Dawn at New Image Marketing. She can give you several shops I am sure.
I think the mystery shopping industry will stick around for the foreseeable future and might even increase -- in one form or another -- because of the increased attention on the "customer experience" or "end-user experience" by large companies. I do user-experience design for a living and over the last ten years, I've seen increased recognition by many companies of this impact to their bottom line. They have begun to realize that paying attention to the sum of the entire experience, from the decor of the entryway to the presentation of food to the smell in the bathroom determines whether a customer will return, or worse, badmouth the business to their friends. These kinds of non-quantitative metrics cannot be measured with a postcard-sized comment card or a Net Promoter Score, or even a camera.

I haven't been doing this for a full calendar year but I suspect that many companies have marketing budgets that take a few months to hash out at the beginning of the year. I did notice there was a CRAZY rush of bonused shops and frantic schedulers at the end of 2017 and right now in my area it's practically crickets. March 31 is the end of the first fiscal quarter, I bet we'll start seeing more shops appearing soon.
