Actually mystery shopping CAN fix the back kitchen, it is simply done in an audit. There have been audit shops in my area, different clients not Red Lobster, where the kitchen was inspected for cleanliness. I am sure it was not a deep inspection like is required by law, but it was a surprise inspection that could detect lazy general cleaning habits. There are a couple shops that I do where the clients have open kitchens that are viewed on the way to the restroom. Questions on the reports ask whether or not the kitchen looked clean, things such as kitchen counters, the floor and even the food pantry. The only thing I've never been asked about was the freezer. My point is that it appears RL could benefit from such a shop. I know I'd like to think the kitchen at my local RL is clean as the service is good, the food is good, and we like going there. MSC are you LISTENING??? I WANT A RL SHOP

My stepdaughter worked at Red Lobster for about 2 weeks and she quit, saying it had the dirtiest kitchen...this was about 6 years after hubby and I had shopped it. We didn't like the food anyway but after finding out that they had unsanitary practices going on in the kitchen, no way would we ever eat there again. But that's something mystery shopping can't fix. You can evaluate the food and service, but you don't know what's going on behind the scenes...
Olive Garden here is not great but it's not horrible. I'd give RL a 2 and OG a 6.

Red Lobster and Olive Garden are the same for me, a 4 on a scale of 10.
