Apartment Mystery Shop Advice Needed

I have just started doing mystery shops for apartments through Ellis Partners and IMyst. So far they have been fairly easy although the reports can be a bit long. My question is how do you use an alias when they ask for your ID before showing you an apartment. Right now I am okay, because when you are actually looking for an apartment you look at several of them, so if I pop up in their system I can use that as an excuse. But what about down the road. Any advice would be great.

Actually Ellis requires you use a different name so it doesn't come up in the management company's database. One reason is so each leasing agent is given the opportunity to bring up things like the management company. Often they would not if they think you have gotten the same spiel somewhere else.

I switch out using my first and middle names then choose a random last name. Saying you are getting divorced is the easiest for women. Your ID hasn't been changed because you want to wait until you are settled in at a new place to change both the name and address.

I have gone by a dozen variations of my first and middle names......

I always use a random last name. Keep my first name the same but change up the spelling. That way when they use it they don't get a 'who are you talking to?" blank stare from me.
