insufficient funds paycheck

Hello,

I have never posted before but do read posts once in awhile. I do a few shops a month. However, this has never happened to me. I won't name the company, but their check to me bounced and it cost me $19 in bank fees plus now I am out of the payment/reimbursement fee for the shop also. What should I do? I already emailed the company with no reply. I have been doing these shops/evals for this company for a few years with no problem.
This is very discouraging

It's hard for anyone to help you unless you name the company. There are a number of things you can do, but the answer depends on who the company is. By providing the company name, other shoppers may have a contact name and number, there may be an additional way to get in touch with the company, if the company is an MSPA member,, reaching out to MSPA would be an option.

I'm sure you are discouraged, but without naming the company, I doubt you'll get much more advice than to contact the company.
Well if you posted more maybe we would be more helpful. winking smiley

I'm kidding!
For now all you can really do is email the company. If you only have a scheduler name you might see if you can find an owner or someone higher up in the company. Otherwise if you can tell us who the company is perhaps someone might have a better contact?
If you feel uncomfortable naming them publicly you might do a search for them on here. Often you will notice shoppers who might do a lot of work for a company and can send them a PM for advice.

At the moment only demons come to mind
Whom at the company did you email? The scheduler might be of little help. They should have somebody who actually handles payments.

I agree with @roflwofl - if you name the company, somebody here just might have a number for you. Moreover, it would alert all of us to watch out for similar issues with the company.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
How long ago was it since you attempted to contact them? Hopefully this isn't an indicator of overall decline with the company. Please let us know if you get it resolved and if you don't get it resolved, it would be great if you could let us know which company so that other shoppers are forewarned.
Thanks for the replies. I was not sure if I should/can mention the name of the company. It is Mystery Shoppers, Inc. I contacted them via their online "contact us" questionnaire Friday and emailed the scheduler today. I am hoping that the scheduler gets back with me. I don't have a phone number to call. Has this happened to anybody else?
I assume this the company under this name using the Sassie platform. I found their phone number at this link.

Awesome! Thanks
I didn't even think to Google it. Ha!

I left a message with them.

Scroll down a bit on the search page and you will see the number.
Remember, a bounced check can be re-deposited (twice in total), but one risks incurring an NSF fee again on it. Better to take the check to the drawer's bank and cash it in person. Write the $19 off as a business expense and never accept work from that MSC again.
I did 2 shops for them last month. The check for the first one was supposedly mailed on the 9th but I haven't received it yet. Hope they don't bounce.

Do you know what day your check was cut? Wondering if i should start investigating where my check is.
There's Mystery Shoppers, Inc. which participates on Sassie. The iSecret shop has a different company, MSS aka BES. I used the abbreviations so they aren't connected to this mess.

Actually, Spicy, I just looked and yes, Mystery Shoppers, Inc is on Sassie but also on iSecretShop as well.
