Anyone do the North Fork wine tasting shops?

Anyone done one of these? I'm not in California right now, but wondering for the future...

I wish. I think they are northern Calif. I am in southern Calif. We have winerys here but I don't see any of our cities listed.
I do them currently! They are a lot of fun. And, later in the month they start to get higher bonuses if they are not claimed too.

What percentage of your time is work/fun on these?
How long does it take to do the observations?
Could you do more than one in a day?
How long does it take to write up a report?
Any downside to these?

Thanks
I do just the tasting, not the tour & taste shop - you observe the condition of the property upon arrival and just remain passive and interact a lot with the person pouring the wines and listen and ask questions to see their knowledge, and let them explain the wine club, history of the winery, etc. No pictures or anything, just the receipt.

The tasting is about 35-40 minutes long (can vary when they are pouring extra wines!) and the report (I consider myself a newer shopper as I just got back into shopping in February) takes about an hour to complete, for me. It's one of those Yes/No forms, explain all Nos, and a brief narrative after each section.

The wineries are all in different towns, so I only complete one per day - otherwise it's a lot of driving and trying to make it to wineries before they close!

I'm a newer shopper and probably much slower at the report area, so it is a solid hour for me to report. But even with my limited experience it is an easier shop to complete than some of the other MSC's reports.

I'd say the downside is be careful about the expenses - the reimbursement barely covers the cheapest tasting and purchasing of the cheapest bottle, which is a required purchase. Also, if they are not claimed the bonus is increased throughout the month. Hope this helps!! smiling smiley
Very true... I'm too far at the moment, but the wineries I'm seeing are not going to have many bottles in the $12 slurpee range. I would only do 1 per day, until you know for sure what is really required - plus why ruin a good buzz stressing over a report?
I want full detail. On everything!

Every time I get the emails I have a brief moment of excitement till I remember it's all for NorCal, not San Yanez Valley wineries. It would be nice to write off some of my travel and tastings.
