Mystery Shops with a 'buddy'.

Bare is peddling a new round of shops where they want you to buddy up with another shopper for a send/receive money scenario. I read it twice two make sure it wasn't a joke, and they are actually serious. Has anyone tried these yet with a buddy or relative? They seem pretty ridiculous to me, especially with a $25 payoff.

Is it $25 per person or total?

Oh, that's better then. I was being facetious when I said, "Well, at least they are paying one of you." I thought you meant the pay was $25 to split.
I replied in another thread. Anytime I have to send MY money I always am uneasy. When I have to scan in my license to the company ahead of time it adds to the uneasy feeling. I saw them a few days ago but they make me nervous even though I have dealt with this company before.
Does the friend or relative have to be a registered shopper? I saw the shop, but didn't read it as thoroughly as I should have....

Good question, Well they must because i havent completed shops with this MSC sso my rating is not high enough...
Both people need to be registered with Bare. I enjoy working with Bare and would do these shops so let me know if you need a partner
Here is one of the problems with this shop. I have to trust another shopper to come thru. I'm sure most of us on here are dedicated shoppers, but I'm not rolling the dice on this.
Even if the other shopper bails Bare returns your money. I would do a bunch if my “friend” had a shop on her area. It’s a little hard to understand the match up part but the pay is 25.00 each part so that seems fair.
I would trust that Bare would not pair up people who have not proven their dependability.
Because of a mix up, I'm going to have to let them pair me up with someone. I'll let you know how it turns out. If I like doing these, any future ones I will find my own partner. As I understand things though, you can use someone who is not a Bare shopper as a partner. But because only half of the evaluations can be done, the pay is not as much.

I just read the e-mail that came in today on these. It says that the other shopper has to be a Bare evaluator and that they (Bare) will pair you up. I think I'm going to go in for this, as the $40 is guaranteed back to you if anything goes wrong. Bare's been good to work for, so I'm not worried about that aspect of it. I just need to see where the send & receive locations are, because I don't think there are any close to me.

I actually just applied to do this shop. I've done several for them and have never had a problem with being paid so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Actually, the way they have it structured, you'd still get paid for the part you completed and theyd reimburse the $40 if the other shopper flakes.

I did this today with a partner provided by Bare. It worked out pretty good. I sent him an e-mail yesterday with my information and I hoped he would respond back yesterday so I could do the send part while out and about in the morning. Unfortunately he didn't get back to me until this morning after I'd left. He had already sent the money to me and was hoping to be able to pick it up about 2:30 his time. Unfortunately I didn't get his email until about 4:00 his time. But I rushed out and did both scenarios and he picked his up about an hour later. So I guess it worked out okay. Anyway it wasn't too burdensome. If they do this again, I'll definitely look for locations that are more convenient. These were close to each other but about 15 miles from me. That doesn't sound like much but due to their location and time of day, traffic was really bad. Live and learn anyway.

My receive shop took the longest because there was a long line and the clerk was slow. My send shop went pretty fast as there was no line. It probably took 20 minutes for the receive in total and less than 10 for the send. Good luck with doing your shop. They're not too difficult but be sure to watch out for all promotional material.

Hi, I just did one pair of shops and have applied for another. It went just fine. BARE paired me with another evaluator; we have both received our money back. One of the shops was 2 minutes from my house, which was especially nice, and the total time there was 7 minutes. They were both in supermarkets. One suggestion: if you do these, you will be asked which of a LONG list of brochures was available. I picked up every brochure at my send location rather than trying to remember. At my receive location, there were no brochures.
The send part is $30; the receive is $20. Another suggestion based on my mistake, which I corrected in my report: there is a question about whether you received a customer support phone number. I initially said no, but it is actually on the (incredibly long) receipt near the top. The date of the T&C is in tiny print on the back of the receipt.
One other suggestion: if you want to do your receive shop by a certain day/time, let your partner know. Luckily, my receive shop was open till 11 p.m., but if it had been my send shop, they stop doing the transfers at 6 p.m.
Might make sense to check with both your shops on the hours available to do the transfer/receipt.

I just wish there were more within a reasonable distance. I don't want to have to drive far to do these. Mine were at stores that do payday loans and so weren't in the best neighborhoods either. I'll wait and see if they offer some that are closer before I do any more unless they bonus them anyway.

I had something funny happen when I did this shop. I submitted my reports on Friday and today the editor got back to me and said the times on my reports didn't match the times on the receipt so I took a look. On both receipts (2 different locations) the time listed was 3 hours later than the time I put on the report (which of course was the correct time). Then I noticed that they were both listed as EDT. The problem is, I'm in Arizona and we're on MST year round. And right now, being on MST, means that my clock time is the same as Los Angeles (November to mid-March we match Denver). So that's why the 3 hour difference. I responded back to the editor and she got it right away and thanked me for explaining it. Another oddity was that one of them was in military time. I don't see that very often on a receipt.

They will reimburse the “send” fee. I am doing another pair and may apply for two more pairs as the locations are all within a few miles.
The report is easy, with almost no narrative. I just did one in about 10 minutes (but it's my third). Need to note location open hours; id the agent; list the brochures and posters on display; in and out times. Upload three to four photos: store front; receipt (it's long so takes two photos) and the terms and conditions from the back of the receipt. Does not require regurgitating info already given smiling smiley
I'm going to apply for two more nearby pairs, so that should tell you how easy it is.
Sounds great! I will give it a shot. Hopefully they will be able to pair me up with someone.

Very easy indeed. I just wish there were more close to me. I don't want to go 30 miles each way to do them.

I got paired with an awesome partner! We did one set when they first came out and decided to do a second round we liked them so much.
