Mystery Shops with a 'buddy'.

At least it sounds a little less flakey than the recent shop where they wanted you to have another shopper come into your home.

Did my first one of these yesterday. Got a good partner and we completed everything in just 2 hours after getting the email. Easy. Only thing that was a little odd is that they saw my name in the system already, so I couldn't really "play dumb" like it was my first time sending money.
I’ve done 4 sets would love to do more, as many as I can get. I’ve applied to many more just waiting now....
There are a lot by me if you are in a location with a lot pm me maybe if we fill in the spot asking to be paired it will better our chances to be assigned. I could knock a ton out this weekend.
I appreciate the info everyone has imparted here. Haven't done any of these shops yet, but there are many in my area (Fort Lauderdale) and I'll be traveling up to GA in the next few weeks, so there is opportunity to knock out a lot of shops.

I've actually shopped with a member on this forum! I was her "son", helping her find a home in a age-restricted community. The shop went extremely well, and both of us were paid.
Hmmmmm..had passed on these initially because it was such a headache when I did it with another company..spent over an hour on the phone arguing with the operator trying to get my money back..suceeded at the end,but it was a bit different than what bare is doing...hope they make these available over the weekends..based on everyone's feedback..will apply if they do

How many shops do they allow per shopper?

I did one this week. The total shop fee is $50. The form is pretty simple and Bare provides the buddy, you don't have to know another MS 60+ miles away. And the rule is that both parties have to complete the first portion before either can do the second part, it's a pickup rather than a refund. Also, Bare covers any fees.

After you've done a few of these, how do you get around not being suspicious? The last guy at the counter read through my entire list of previous names I have sent money to and was confused when I said it would be yet a new name and again for the suspicious amount of $40. If you use another phone number with the same ID will you get reset?
I have done four sets of these and no one has questioned me about my repeated transactions for the same amount. I do wish I had said I didn't want to be in their system, and I did use different phone numbers for the first two (cell and home). I am guessing that using a different phone number would work for you, as it won't come up in the system. I guess I've been lucky. Maybe you could have a response at the ready, like you are a group of friends who had made informal bets with each other, or buying a big gift for somebody or planning a party, or you are purchasing or selling an item which costs $40. It's really none of their business why you are sending and receiving money, unless it's illegal, in which case I think a much larger amount might raise suspicion.
Ive done 8 total so far (4 sets) they just ask if its someone ive sent to or someone new because then they have to add their info. Have 3 more sets to complete. Went to 2 grocery stores last night thouvgh that i was told system was down. They were close to me though snd pay great so didnt complain.

After the 4 sets i was told reached the limit but then still assigned more. I think some areas have so many they ha e to keep going back to tbe client to revise requirements.

And never heard any rule both partys have to send first.
I did my receive before I sent. It was more convenient that way. Nothing was said about it.

What's done is done. An egg cracked cannot be cured.
There are 3 kinds of lies. Lies, Damn lies, and statistics.
Sent 2 emails to my buddy for shops due 7/12. Finally receive an email back at 10:42pm tonight saying "By 11:59pm". Just that and nothing else.
@Want985, that is kind of crappy, but as long as they do their part by deadline you are okay. Maybe they had a bad day..it happens....
also just wanted to say thanks to everyone posting, as previously stated, I was going to avoid this one; as it initially seemed like huge chaos, but it sounds super easy after reading this thread...

Not exactly. I can do my receive until they do their send. I cant do my send until they send me there information. When assigned you and your partner receive a confirmation email listing steps/instructions. First step is provide your partner full name, location you are receiving, when you plan to complete. I did as stated and asked my partner when they planned to complete. Only communication I received was "By 11:59pm". 1 minute before its due.

This is a partner project. Half can not be completed until your partner completes their end. People have differant schedules. Not telling your partner when you plan to complete is essentially holding them hostage waiting for you. I also signed up for locations close to eahother. I complete them at the same time, I do it in one trip.
So I've been assigned two of these so far. First one went sooo well. Thanks to the op who came thru. Second one has been a night mare - the guy never replied to emails. He was woken up by the msc and finally got ahold of me. He would return my texts waaay after I sent him one; He finally got kicked of the assignment the loser. I just got reassigned to a different person and she is mia so far.....
I completed this assignment recently. I didn’t have a buddy so they assigned me a partner. The shop was easy and I was able to send and receive (2 different locations) in an hour.
Just did my first set over this past weekend..had a really reliable person..we both got the send part done early Saturday afternoon. The report itself wasn't too bad. I will probably apply again this weekend coming up. How are you getting around the question that says act like you are new

Just ask the questions even if you know the answers... actually it’s not so much asking as listening for information to be offered.
Doing my second set today..how are you getting them to talk about the process if they can see your not new..not sure how to approach this and not give away you're a mystery shopper

I did four sets and nobody raised anything...if pressed you can always say you can't remember something. As I said above, it's more about listening to what information they volunteer. I suggest you look again at the report....it's mostly about what they offer rather than what you ask.
Almost done with my second set..applied for my 3rd over the weekend..so far my partners have been excellent...all of them want this done earlier rather than later..very excited for the 3rd one.. In my 3rd partners email..she said she loved this msc and wish she could do more than one of these shops..gave her the good news that more than one can be done..waiting on her response...also the narrative part is not very time consuming..once you know what to expect...

Finishing up my 8th set I believe. There were so many and the map is finally looking cleared out in my area.
The freak who responded to my email with "by 11:59pm" apparently conducted her shops with someone she knew in her town. Needless to say the msc will not be moving forward with her.
This was an awesome project.
The partner email I got for my 3rd set now assigns the date for each part of the process, instead of allowing you to work it out with your partner. Is this happening for everyone?
@quovatis..they are flexible on dates..on my 4th set tomorrow...the person I did my 3rd set with had a minor change but the scheduler was flexible..just reach out to them...Has anyone been able to do more than 4 sets of these?

Dangit..did my 4th shop..and forgot about the 5.00 fee..all I had was the 40 dollars in cash..and ended up paying the 5.00 fee on a debit card..hope that doesn't make my shop invalid..the clerk suspected I was a mystery shopper and I didn't want to confirm by leaving to get 5 more dollars in cash and then coming back...

Have a question though this was in a grocery store and the clerk offered me a store rewards card..should I include this in my report..even though that isn't a question on the report?

My first set was easy. One location on my second set was obviously a front. It was basically a closet with signage in a dank project corner store. It was closed. The store employee said the service is rarely open and the guy comes in whenever he wants but usually doesn't come at all. After two attempts to find it open on the same day, I contacted the scheduler. While waiting for a response I watched lots of drug sale transactions. It was scary and, since I am unknown to the locals in the area and sitting suspiciously in my car, I am quite surprised that I was not shot (very common occurrence) or approached in any way. I had to leave before hearing from the scheduler because I knew by being there at all I was taking unnecessary chances with my life. So, later I get a new location assigned, do my send (which my poor partner has been waiting for) then wait a bit to go to my pickup. I already knew the location would be just as seedy as the first having been to that gas station before. The CSR was polite but told me the money was not there. I double checked the number and asked him to look again. He did. Nope. I went to the car, used the tracking function and saw that the money was available. So why couldn't the CSR find it? Don't know. By this time, I am irritated and hopeless. A street person is standing next to my car looking at me as I look at my phone with window closed. He's talking to me. I ignore him. I finish what I am doing. He waits. I open the car door to get out. He asks for money. Really frustrated with these dangerous locations, sestra snaps! In my meanest, loudest voice I bellow, "Get the f&#$ off my back!!! I HAVE NO F#$%ing PATIENCE FOR YOU TODAY!!!" I get back in my car & leave. I'm done. Sumitted the report as it happened, omitting the parking lot affair, and am waiting to find out where I should go now to pick up. And the first, never-open location is back on the job board which is not fair to the next sucker who wastes their time on it. True story. Maybe a rant.
@sestrahelena..sorry to hear you're having bad luck with these..if you can find one without all the issues you're stating, they are worth it...I've been mostly going with the locations inside grocery stores and thus far they have worked out. After what you shared I might stick to grocery store locations only..yikes

In addition to this no amount of money that is offered by an msc is worth getting shot...

If I were in your shoes, I probably would drive over to the locations before I even applied to make sure I would feel safe performing the shop...
