I find the lack of self awareness here remarkable. In other threads on this board you brag about your dishonest timings, and in this thread you are outraged at being asked about dishonesty, among other things. *SMH*

I'll bet that steady work at $14 is looking pretty good now based on the posts I had seen from him.

The company decides if they want to give you sick pay, holiday pay. The company told the temps they were not invited to any company functions. Treat me like a second class worker, you get second class work. I have no loyalty to your company. Something doesn't get shipped, too bad, not my problem. I'll go work for someone else.
Sounds like common sense to me......
Companies often intentionally hire temporary workers or independent contractors so they do not have to pay benefits like insurance and Worker’s compensation for the employee. But if that person is full time and employed for a significant amount of time they should be treated as an employee and provided benefits and pay accordingly. In past few years (in Alaska anyway) there has been a lot of media attention to the practice of hiring temp or independent contractors for full time jobs as ‘3 years’ is NOT temporary and John should have been an employee receiving benefits. One of our big pipeline companies ended up paying benefits to a significant number of independent contractors retroactively because of this issue. Hopefully John got benefits through the temp agency.

Ryan Lochte is a very good but very dumb swimmer who was suspended for 13 months or something by US Swimming today because he posted a pic on social media of him getting an IV of a banned performance enhancing drug.

Not to stop someone from besmirching Ryan Lochte's idiotic name, but I fear I must correct you.... :'D ...if I can do it through my laughter.

He was getting an IV that was either JUST fluids or contained no banned substances.. unfortunately the IV bag was of a larger size that is allowed for 'consumption' by the governing body. I think that's EXACTLY the right time for the phrase 'dumb luck.'

Bless his heart. If he was gonna get suspended he could at least have grown 2 more abs with some steroids.
HA! I honestly didn't read the article, just saw the headlines. But OMG have you ever watched an interview with him? It's seriously difficult to sit through.

There are reasons that a body stays in motion
At the moment only demons come to mind
You know he used to have a TV show? When I was a pre-teen I had a big crush and used to watch it. Yikes.

One of my friends works for USAV and frequently spends time at the Olympic Training Center.. once she complained about having lunch at the same table as him and I thought she was insane. After watching an interview, I knew why.
I worked at Qualcomm for a time and they laid us temps off every 11 months, then brought us back. No benes, had to keep our performance up and complete 10 hours worth of work in 8 hours time - no OT ever, at all, for any reason. It was too stressful and the $ wasn't worth it to me.
