Sunday Shop - Yay or Nay?

HELLO!
We Only have Sunday Shops because we shop churches! Is that a deterrent or is it a unique option in the mystery shopping world??

Would love to chat!

From what I've seen, most retail, restaurant or apartment shops, when they have day-of-the-week restrictions, it's usually Monday - Friday. Having shops available on Sundays would seem to be an advantage since many other shops don't allow weekends, so theoretically, there'd be less competition.
However, it could conflict with shoppers attending their regular church services. Don't most churches also have services on other days besides Sunday?
This is a job posting and really should be on the Job Board. I've reported to the moderator to see if they will move it to the right place.

I understand that this is a hardworking scheduler but the posts in our discussion area are getting ridiculous. First the scheduler started a thread to ask How can people reply to my posts on the Job Board? Then he started a thread to ask How can I get more shoppers? Now it's a company Please sign up advertisement called Sunday Shop - Yay or Nay? I'm all for job solicitations but they should be on the Job Board.

rofl, this got my attention. I would not have seen it if it were on the Job Board. It's rare that I look there.

Not everyone attends church regularly. I prefer doing things on Sunday morning due to less traffic and various annoyances. Sunday shops would be a yay for me.

I understand it got your attention. That's the reason the Faith Perceptions scheduler is posting in our discussion areas instead of on the Job Board. He wants to get your attention. So .... should all the schedulers who currently post on the Job Board start posting in our discussion areas? Do we want to do away with the Job Board and just merge all job announcements with the discussion?

It's great free advertising for the company and the scheduler and it captures the attention of more shoppers than using the Job Board. It's a WIN for the scheduler. I think it's disrespectful and if more than a couple schedulers do this, it will overwhelm the discussion area of our forum.
I get what you are saying. The rules have to be followed. It's also helpful to Faith Perceptions that we keep this thread at the top of this section!

At one point in my area these were also offered on Saturday evenings. It sounds as if the program has changed.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
@TroyHawkins They do! But typically we are evaluating the services that first-time guests will be attending and usually the more visited/highly attended ones are on Sundays! Thanks for the feedback!

@roflwofl Hello! My honest intention was feedback and not to post my job. I have been using the Job Board for Job Posts. I thought I was using these correctly, I welcome feedback from the Moderator if I am incorrectly using the Forum... Thanks!

I would love to found some work for Faith Perceptions is my area , it would be a nice experience to see what other churches are doing beside the one I attent each Sunday. I also love dinning shop after church.
Honestly, when I see these post by Faith Perceptions, I see a struggling MSC who wants to know why they are not getting shoppers. Sadly they are in a category that not everyone is comfortable with which is the real issue. But to answer the question, Sunday shops are unique because there are not many of them but your shops touch on people's morals.
Shopping on Sunday. Sure. Every day is equal to every other day.

Going to a church? Not on a Sunday or any other day. YMMV.
Maybe put all of this in the tag line or whatever it's called, instead of in the body of the post:

It would seem like a genuine question rather than a drum for business. I've seen posts about general shop questions like this by other companies and their reps so I don't see a problem with it. There's not enough discussion in this group anyway and I would <i> thoroughly enjoy hearing from companies, schedulers and heck, clients too. Maybe this forum can add a secret room so schedulers can interact and talk smack about shoppers. Some here already work as a scheduler, s*c*, and don't have tag lines and hang out here and get info and pretend like they are shoppers, sorry, extraordinary shoppers, anyway. And how many times can I read about people not being able to tell someone's basic info like height, age and sex (lol) and wondering if they should cash that $2,185 check?

I shop primarily on the weekend so it's a go for me on Sunday!
@Alieda That would be a great combo! smiling smiley

@a171989 Thanks for the feedback. We are always trying to learn from others and see what maybe are barriers from getting a FLOOD of shoppers every day. We are unique. We have hard areas and we are eager to get the best data for our clients so that is why we are out here asking questions, learning, and we love feedback. So thank you!

@Rousseau Thanks for the feedback. Just to clarify, what does YMMV stand for?

YMMV, Your millage may vary comes from the experiences of frequent fliers who found among themselves that they were getting differing miles for the same trips. It has come to more broadly mean that different folks have different experiences.

I find it interesting that many have noted a great number of shops are weekend excluded. I don't find that the case at all. The vast, vast majority of my shops are 7/day shops, including shops at a few banks which I do. I have a few which alternate month-to-month between directions to shop during the week and to only shop on the weekend. The only shops which I have seen which exclude Saturday/Sunday are in retailers with heavy weekend traffic out of concern that the mystery shopper might take time away from a real sale. But then we are each in our own niche.
I have no objection to working on Sundays. I have completed shops on Sundays. Sunday is the only night that I can devote to a hotel shop.

At one of my jobs, it is important to remember that all people do not elevate, celebrate, or otherwise honor Sunday. For many people, it is a day off, a work day, or something else. We want as many opinions from as many people as we can get, so when we are challenged, we tell people that we respect their beliefs and practices regarding Sundays. Some people do not like this, and they argue in favor of Sunday off for everyone. This is fine. They think and believe as they want to. We conduct our business as we need to. All is well.

So, I work on Sundays when this is permitted and/or when I am available to do so.

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. - Lao-Tzu
I thought YMMV originally came from car ads when they started to cite MPG on ads sometime after the gas crisis in the 70s. Before air mile rewards became a thing.
But anyway, I always wished I could read the schedulers' forum on V, just to see what they discuss. I have actually learned more about what it's like on the schedulers' side of mystery shopping from the few that have posted here. The ISC thread was informative. I can get a better understanding of the challenges they face.
I don't think they are struggling for shoppers or clients.

That's not the impression I'm getting from all of these post. It sounds like all of these questions are being asked so they can see what isn't working and how to draw in shoppers and why they are not getting shopper's attention. And because of their clients, many people won't do shops for them. They just simply don't have any shops in my area.
