Help! What do I do? Money transfer.

I’m at a money transfer shop and the company is specified in the sticky note. The store has a money transfer service but it is not the EXACT service that is specified. What do I do?

I contacted both through the the help button and reply to the email. I don’t know how long I can sit here and wait... pretty sketchy area...

I didn't mean wait there. I meant wait to hear back to do the shop. That might end up being a different day. Don't stay in a sketchy area, especially close to dark.
Ok. Whew! Bit scary so I’m heading home.

I guess I’m new and don’t know how to weed them out yet? I read a lot in here to learn and I’ve caught on to a few that I should avoid.

Here’s some help. Terrible jobs:
IKEA
Anything scheduled by Cirrus
Intellishop (>90% of their jobs)
Any purchase return under $20 (because some day you’ll want to return something and you’ll find that you’ve been pegged as a chronic returner)
Hilli Dunlap (everything)
Most jobs that require money transfer or cash advance
GFK audits of large electronics type stores
Grocery stores that require more than 6 interactions unless they’re paying more than $20-$25
I didn't find this forum until I had been shopping for over a decade. That sucked. You are steps ahead of me in that respect, Rhonda.

Same.....
Also please beware of someone claiming to be from a MSC (Mystery Shopping Company) sending you a check and asking you to deposit it and then you send a certain amount back and you keep the rest. This is a scam. The check they send you will be bad and you will be out all of the money. Good luck finding shops that you like and make you some money.

Oh yes, I heard all about scams right off. I was so paranoid that I almost dropped a short route and I overly questioned the poor scheduler. I’m sure she wants to throat punch me. Lol I hope she will forgive my naivety.

You put such valuable information inside a thread.... You could just start your own threads with stuff like this! smiling smiley

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
My thoughts on a few of these...

Cirrus: MOST of their shops are fine - aside from compensation. The issue is working with the company itself as there is a history of shoppers struggling to get paid and the fact that they are very slow to compensate. For me, this just translates into dollar amounts. When they put the right bonuses on their shops, I do them and simply acknowledge that I have a little extra work on the back end to do...

Intellishop: While I agree that I am not fond of a vast majority of their shops. They do, occasionally, have some absolutely wonderful ones - including the compensation. These are not always advertised on job boards.

Money Transfers: When these go sideways, they are AWFUL. However, when they go correctly, they are generally a pretty good deal. The question is: Do you like to gamble?

Here is how I see @SoCalMama's comment on Intellishop: Intellishop is an honest company that pays like clockwork. They can be sticklers with scoring. However, as I've gained experience and knowledge within the industry, I realize that there are lot of other places to get shops that are similar to what Intellishop typically offers on its job board, but with less work and/or slightly better compensation.

Again, though, there is more to Intellishop than what is on the job board.... The payment I have received on my last several Intellishop shops has been: $75, $50, $60, $100, $100, $100. I am expecting to do three in the next week at $70 each. Work well with the schedulers. Do outstanding work. When they have a need in your area, they just might call.

True. That's why I qualified it. 90% of their shops, I would not have my teenagers do.
Walk around for 30 minutes in a giant home improvement store for $9? That's a joke.
Be smarter than that. They may have a few decently paying jobs, but really, your time is better spent elsewhere.
In 20 years, I have done probably 100 jobs for them. In comparison, I have done over 3000 for BARE. Probably 2000 for HS Brands/Service Sleuths.

I'd be scared to death to front more than $100 on any Intelli-shop job. Their communication is terrible. I also know that their owner is not the best person ever (and that's all I have to say about him).
Wow. Not sure whether that means there is nothing like these in my area, or I should hang my head in shame because despite doing lots of icky shops for them after being asked repeatedly to help out, I am still not seen high enough on the totem pole to be offered the good jobs. :-(

I have tried to work with the schedulers. There are some that will get back to you in a timely manner even if the answer is no. But quite a few don't EVER respond when you reach out to them. But then again, I've found the same is true with KSS, Summit and others as well.

I wish the best and most responsive schedulers had all the jobs in my state. LOL

Yeah, So Cal Mama needs to start her own threads for validation (where is the sarcasm emoji?), LOL!
