burger shop

I am hoping someone can help me with this. I have been assigned a burger shop which I have completed many times before. This is the first time, however, that I am being required to order a milkshake. I just reviewed the guidelines and it seems pretty clear that I need to order both a fountain drink and a milkshake in addition to a burger and fries. I am probably being overly cautious but want to be sure that I complete the shop accurately. Can anyone tell me whether I am reading this correctly? Do I order a fountain drink in addition to the milkshake?

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, it is the place with the peanuts. I just thought it would look strange for one person to order both a fountain drink and milkshake.
The milkshake usually makes me thirsty, I don't think they will be suspicious. BTW those milkshakes are addictive!
Man these shops PAY peanuts. Between that and the health issues the food will give us, I am shocked any of you take them. I am really sad to say I found out who has them, I was doing great without knowing.

I always get my money's (time's) worth in any place with a peanut bar or a salad bar or any other all you can eat type bar. In fact i think if every one ate peanuts like i do they might go out of business. The last time i went the staff encouraged me to fill up a few of the peanut trays and take them home with me before I even got started eating them....and I did. I have only done this shop a few times tho so as not to eat all the fats.

Base fee is usually around $6 and reimburses $12.50 the last time I did one. When I travel I a, have to eat anyway, and b, like eating there. With the extra time I spend in the location (I normally would get it to go) and the super quick reporting time we're talking 15 minutes of total shop time. At $18.50 total pay (remember, I would be spending that money anyway) that's $74 an hour. If you want to consider that peanuts go for it.

Totally understand if you can do it that quickly AND you would have eaten there anyway. I just seem to recall most people on this board commenting on how they take a bite and throw the food away due to health reasons (this food can get you heavier quickly). Also, I had no idea how easy the report was, but if you only stay in the store a few minutes, and can fill out the questionnaire in that time, I can see where you would find value. I have to take into account that nothing is within 10 miles of my house, so 20 miles round trip for any shop, that kills this one for me, since I normally don't eat at this place more then once or so a year (its a guilty pleasure to me).

It's all about the bonus, but I realize that may not be the reality in all cities. But I won't do them for less than $25 plus reimbursement, and it feels I'm there every week! (With the Dad-body to prove it)

I probably wouldn't have eaten then anyway, but I would have eaten somewhere. They are fattening so I save them for when I find a shop. 6-8 of them a year isn't going to make you any fatter than you already are. But every report from this company is easy. I usually save them for when a shop is available within a mile or two from whatever hotel I'm in. I wouldn't consider them "moneymakers" as you won't get rich doing them, but they're definitely worthwhile in the right circumstances.

My husband who does NOT have a dad-bod will order a fountain drink so he can sip unsweetened ice tea and then a milk shake to split with me for dessert. Not a suspicious order at all.
Hey OP, I usually tell them I want my milkshake for dessert and ask if I can get it after I'm done eating so it isn't melted. I pay for it all at the same time when I order. I go back up to the counter and get it after I've eaten. It's never been an issue.

I always wait for the shop fee to be increasd to $24 or more. That way I know I won't be doing them more than about 4-6 times a year. I honestly don't have time otherwise. If I were single and/or traveling I might do them more often, but there are still better dining shop options available elsewhere (here's a nod to Texas Roadhouse bar shops, and both Applebee's and BU's Brewhouse takeout shops)..
Everything JASFLALMT said except I never see a $25 shop fee around here. $14 is about what I make, occasionally $16 if they are desperate. I haven't heard from them in a few months, except for a late nite job, so I think they found someone in my area that will work for less $.

That's a perfect solution! Every time I've had a milkshake shop, which isn't often, my husband comes with me because he likes the shakes. I don't (too sweet). So ordering a shake and a fountain drink hasn't ever been a dilemma. But I've always thought it would be weird to order both at the same time when alone. I wished they would allow us to order one after the meal, but then the receipt wouldn't be right. But, if you can order and pay for it with your meal, then just get it after you eat, that would be best case.

Do they ever act like your request is odd?

I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Thank you for all the advice to my question about milkshakes at the burger shop. I completed the shop yesterday. After placing the order, the cashier kindly asked me if I wanted to eat first and then return to the counter to get the milkshake. It was an extremely hot day. I thanked her and told her that I would be happy to have the cold shake it the car as I drove back to work.
Don't be afraid to decline the $18 and ask for $25+. If you're willing to decline the lower amount, it is possible to get more. If they ask why you need the higher amount, you can say that you have the option to take other shops that pay the higher amount or more.

Be glad. It never goes above $10 in my area. I've seen it hit $12 once, and that was gone an hour later when I looked.
I did not order the Fountain Drink when I had to order a Shake. My report was approved with no problem.
I do them regularly. I usually get a call from them and the fee is higher and sometimes I ask for more and get it. Other times I get the email from "Samantha" with a higher fee. No cooking that day!
ShopperFun99, not sure why your shop was approved since you failed to follow the instructions, which clearly state that you must purchase a drink even if you are required to purchase a shake. Consider yourself lucky that your report was approved.

My first ever FU with that shop was NOT ordering a milkshake (those shops are so rare and my email did not have the magic "If asked to order a milkshake..." phrase. So I didn't. Realized my mistake when doing the report. Didn't get paid, which was totally fine with me since it was my fault. Asked if they'd like me to reshop it. When MF got back to me, she said she would've but it was just assigned to another shopper. Yes, it was. To ME via a phone call. grinning smiley That coffee shake was so good!
No, they don't think twice about it. They probably think I don't feel like waiting in line again just to order the milkshake and it's easier to pay for it all at once.

There is another burger/shake client that actually requires you to order it that way.
