Doing reveal gas shop audits for the first time

Can anyone give me some tips on doing reveal gas shop audits. This is my first one and I want to be fully prepared.

I would recommend going on a weekday late morning when the weather is nice, and you have an open chunk of time. Read through the guidelines a few times. The day of your shop, I would fill out the report on site as you go. Take a few different shots for each required photo (so you have extras).

A lot depends on which MSC you’re doing the shop for. Lots of photos, don’t rush, and report on site are my 3 main suggestions though.
Totally depends on the MSC.

I can't report on site (never mastered any apps!), so I have to report after I get home.

Use a cheat sheet to make sure you don't miss any required photos or any issues.

Count on being there a good chunk of time. For your first one, be sure you go over the guidelines on-site just to make sure you didn't miss anything. Most revealed audits still take me 45 minutes to do.
I'm still wavering on doing these. I suppose I should take the plunge, as reveals don't bother me, but I'm worried I'll forget a photo or something. There's one that's usually open near where I have to be on most Saturdays, but I'm not sure a Saturday is a good time to do a first one....

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
If I'm using camera and not the app, I check the guidelines which I have printed out before I leave and make sure I have every required photo. It just takes an extra 30 seconds. I enjoy doing gas stations. I like getting out into the countryside (I do very few in the city). I like meeting the locals and I like working outside as opposed to inside.

Birdy, I was reluctant to do my first one, too -- so many years ago!

Relax. Do the first one, and if you get too nervous half way through, excuse yourself to the employees, go home, and reschedule it. You can then evaluate what was making you nervous, and do whatever it takes to get over that.

For every different station I do, I have a one-page cheat sheet; it lists the required photos and the things I'm really bad at remembering. And I'm one of those clutzes that sits there after the shop is completed and go over the questionnaire just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Now I've done hundreds. I do whole routes of nothing but gas stations (with maybe a fast food in there somewhere!).

I’m the same way— love hitting the road and wandering through new places! I get in the zone and it’s kind of calming to me.
