Dwolla

I got an email today from Dwolla. It said as of December we will no longer be able to Transfer from Dwolla to our bank accounts. It said to go ahead and transfer all of your money in Dwolla to your bank account now. Has anybody else gotten this email?

Just don't use the link in the e-mail, go directly to the Dwolla site and see if the same warning is there.

Too many phishing scams out there!

And no, I didn't get the e-mail -- I tried to sign up with Dwolla for one of the MSCs or an app or something, and it was way too complicated for me, so I gave up.
I am with Dwolla have not used in ages but did not receive any email. As Ceasesmith suggested I would go directly to the Dwolla website to A see if they have a similar message on site and B transfer any funds safely into an linked bank account. If Dwolla were really stopping transfers into your bank account what would be their purpose of existing going forward.

Just checked my Dwolla last used for Ace Mystery Shopping and no such alert on the site. I indeed think it was a spoofing email with possible fake look alike website.

I only use Dwolla with Sentry. Any comments Dave? I believe they are only discontinuing a “transfer” function where you ask for money to be moved to a designee sort of like bill pay. I have my bank account linked to Dwolla so my Sentry payments automatically get credited to my bank. The email was not a phishing attempt as it did come from Dwolla directly and their website says the same thing.
I just received the email today. It does not appear to be a phishing email but I would always be careful and to be safe just login to Dwolla by typing in the web address and never clicking a link in a email. If it was a phishing email it has to be the best one I have ever seen. Again I don't believe it is as several have gotten it and it looks real. It is just better to be safe then sorry and always type any banking info directly into the web address bar and avoid clicking a link.

I wrote an email to Dwolla advising them not to put a link in an email as the practice invites phishing attacks. Here is there reply:

“Thank you for your email — we completely agree and taking the prevention of phishing very seriously. That is why we put the step-by-step list of how to login and withdraw your funds within the email. I will provide the feedback to our communications team that the link should not have been hyperlinked, as I can see where you’re coming from.”

Still waiting to hear from Dave at Sentry if this has any affect on payments from Sentry going forward.
Dwolla is sunsetting the current platform that we use to pay shoppers. We are in the process of updating our payment application to use the new Dwolla platform and there should be no disruption in payment timing.

As we get closer to launching our new payment platform, I'd be happy to update this thread with information if that is something the mysteryshopforum community would like.
Thanks Dave. I think an update of this thread when the new platform is in place would be helpful.
