Yeah, sometimes they cut off the moldy parts on things like lasagna. But some places just serve it as is.
Excuse me, but how does pasta get moldy? It would have to be either fresh pasta that was refrigerated for a long time before serving or pasta that was cooked well in advance (a week?) before serving. Gross. How could the restaurant not notice?
Gross sad smiley Sorry you had to deal with icky pasta.

My son and I were drinking apple juice last night as we hung out all by ourselves while other kids/husb ran errands. Had a couple glasses each.

Husb came home and said, "Wow, this apple juice needs to be thrown away. It has mold in it."

Sure enough..... :/
Not a mystery shopping story but......When I was 10 years old my brother and I sat on the back porch late evening, eating candy bars that the manager had given us (she filled vending machines) and I ate about 2 bars. The next day, we sat down again to enjoy the candy when I noticed BUGS were in the candy! We threw it all away but I can't erase the fact that I swallowed 2 candy bars that had bugs! tongue sticking out smiley
Sometimes on a shop, if things are horrid, I act like a regular customer.

A moldy dish? I would have called out the manager or something. I don't care if I'm on a shop or not, that's not acceptable.
I could guess which restaurant, I refuse to do it, and nothing worse than not enjoying your meal, I'd report it to the Manager.

Meh a little mold never hurt nobody!

Mold at home is one thing, but completely unacceptable at a restaurant where they are paid to feed you. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

You should try watching Restaurant Impossible. You'll see how easy it is for them to not notice... I mean care.

I was just on a restaurant shop where I am quite sure the pasta was moldy.
I hope you got a picture of it and sent it to the scheduler or put it in your report. I'm sure the Client would need to see and/or know about this!!
I had a horrible meal (not moldy), but couldn't eat the food, gave a negative report and didn't work for them for 3 months. Then a scheduling company scheduled me for one of their good places and I gave a very positive report and am back with them....the question is, do they really want to know and shouldn't the Manager check on these things. I felt that is what we do, negative reports help them, but, what do I know???? Fresh pasta will go moldy if not kept in fridge....actually should be cooked fresh, that's the point of making it. I do watch Restaurant Impossible and cringe at what goes on in restaurants that need their help.

It got reported to the manager and I was told it was "from the pan" or skillet. LOL
UGH! Then who's cleaning the pans??? That's even worse....makes you wonder how long they go before they clean their cookware! I don't know where you ate, but I sure wouldn't want to eat there!!
I'm sorry, but mold at home is not acceptable, either.

I'm not saying I would eat the mold. I have found that once in a while, the fancy mustard I thought I would like, ends up showing some furries, before we find it & toss it.
