Arby's shop report dilemma

FYI I did email the MSC about this but I haven't received a reply back yet.

I did an Arby's shop today for the LTO sandwich. The shop guidelines indicate that the drink and side are supposed to be small size, but I am not supposed to specify a size when ordering. I'm to order the items and wait for the employee to ask me what size I want. This time the employee didn't ask me what size and just automatically gave me medium.

I'm torn on what to put for the report question of what size I ordered. Do I put small or medium? Technically I didn't even order a size because the employee never asked me what size. There is a separate question asking if the employee asked me what size I wanted and I'm able to answer "No" on that one. But I'm afraid the "what size did you order" question is going to get me invalidated if I say Medium because it's supposed to be only Small. But I might also get invalidated if I say Small because my receipt shows Medium.

I've emailed the MSC asking how I should answer the question on the report but so far I haven't heard back. Has anyone else encountered this situation? I've done lots of these Arby's shops before but this is the first time I've had this problem come up.

Every time I have done one the employee would ask me what size I wanted

I may be wrong here but I would have told the cashier that I only had enough money for a small or I I'm not hungry I would like small please.

I thought you could get any size but they recommend a small with out going over (Unless I am wrong)

When I question something like this, I answer it to the best of my ability. Then, in an area in the report somewhere I will leave the editor a note giving them more detail. If there is no place to put a note, I will do the best I can and then email the MSC with a detailed note.

Personally, I would reschedule the shop and redo it. The guidelines are VERY FIRM -- you're to order the sandwich, wait for the meal offer ("upsell" ), and then ask for a SMALL MEAL. If no upsell is offered, then you are to order the meal, but only a small one. It's NOT a suggestion, it's a firm requirement.

I don't mean to sound harsh.

(I have done 4 of these this month, but unless you're doing them for a different MSC, that's what the guidelines state.)

Reschedule it?? This MSC is not that picky. The small requirement is just to keep people under the reimbursement. Pick the best answer and just email the helpdesk with a note about what happened since the report doesn't have a place for any notes.
Just tell the helpdesk what happened. You will be paid. What occurred is out of your control.
I got a reply this morning and they said it is to be small and if the order taker doesn't ask what size I should still make it small. That is not a natural flow of an order because immediately after I ordered the meal and waited for the size question I was immediately told the order total and sent to the drive through window.

The problem with redoing the shop is it is 65 miles away. This was largely bonused which is why I took it. They said my options are to report it and it may be invalidated, reschedule and redo it, or cancel altogether. I'm inclined to just report as is and take my chances. It's true that this report has no place for notes so I'm thinking I'll just reply to the help desk and reiterate my story and submit saying that I ordered the medium. (Even though that is a lie since I wasn't given a chance to specify any size.)
This is where critical thinking comes into place. If you've done this shop before, you should be familiar with the cost.

Once your total was given you had the opportunity to ask for your order to be repeated. You could have then specified that you wanted a small.

Or once you received your food and you noticed you were given mediums you could have said you wanted a small.

The MSC is one of the easiest i've worked with but they are usually stern with requirements. I've never done this shop before as I have no interest in the food.

This is why those of us who don't lie have to provide so much proof. Thanks.
Lying is falsifying and it will get you deactivated or worse, it's against your IC contract; it's never a good idea to lie to obtain payment. If I were you, I would think twice about that decision.

I thought the steps were to order the LTO then wait for an upsell. To then make it a small combo, or if the combo is not available add a small drink and small side.

If you followed the steps, it sounds like they offered you a combo upgrade and you accepted. You would have then verified the combo was small, at least that is what I do. If they had a POS screen, you can see the order. Or, have them repeat the order if they did not before stating the total.

The OP would not be telling a lie. They ordered a meal. The meal received was medium. Therefore, they ordered a size medium. They did not specify the size, but they received and paid for a medium.

I would submit the report, say it was a medium, and cross your fingers. If it gets rejected... well, now you know for the future.
Yes to the detailed explanation. If given an opportunity, you would have ordered the small size. The employee did not provide that opportunity and provided a medium. Unless the guidelines explain the required response in this situation, your only really decent option is to explain this. Please do not get anywhere near to indicating that you ordered the medium size, because that was the default meal. Please just explain that you did not have an opportunity to order as instructed. Perhaps in future, a new clause will appear in guidelines that will describe what shoppers should do if this happens.

Just be honest. Email the help desk and explain what happened. I think they ask for the proof for the client, since it's so easy with technology.
i once ordered a small drink at a fast food place, per requirements. When I got to the wondow they had a large. I told them I wanted a small. They rang it up again with small, but gave me the large since it was already poured.
