Price checks via an app

Hello everyone, can someone explain how to do these shops in grocery store and Walmart? How long does it take to do these? Is it worth the money? Thanks in advance

Please give more details. This could describe at least 3 very different audits that I know of, probably more.
The price checks are 250-300 grocery items to check, also about 20 photos of seafood and produce items. I’m not sure it’s worth my time. Pay is 50$ Sounds like a lot of items to check which to me says hours in the grocery store and Walmart. Any advice?
Run. Run quickly. Not only do you have to get multiple prices per item (regular & sale, at least) but for one company you have to do so incognito. It takes several small trips over several days to do that. At $50 you will likely be losing money.
These are very time consuming and frustrating shops. There are a lot of details. My time is worth more than this. Also, any items not carried (locale, manager's preference, sold out) are not paid. So subtract these items from your pay, too. There are plenty of other better paying shops.
I've done that one once. It wasn't too bad other than the "fresh/frozen" bit that took some getting used to. I'v n ever had anyone at a store give me a grief for wandering around for a while. Just be warned that you will be on your feet for about 2 hours or so.
@weatherman2111 how on earth did you do it in 2 hours? After 4 hours I had found about 10 items, and I do merchandising as my regular job.

Are we talking the same grocery store audit via the Missions app?
Mine was at WM, but yes. I never made it out of the sports section. Got hung up on the fishing lures, if you'll pardon the pun.
I am up in the air about this one as well. They give you 3 days to check up to 1200 or so items. Granted there are potentially many that aren't carried but no way of knowing until you're in the middle of it and could be quite slow doing the items that are in stock. Plus if you get dinged for those not counted the fee could be slashed down significantly.
I did several of these about 2 years ago. Having worked in grocery stores since the age of 10, they were a breeze. The last one I completed was in the liquor department and it seemed to take forever.
Hands down an audit of prices at a grocery store was my worst nightmare of a shop. The job was listed at $75 for 150-175 items. It turned out to be 245 items ALL with 2 prices to be entered. It took me 5 hours to do 4 of the 7 modules. I called the scheduler who bumped the pay up to $100 and allowed me to finish the next day. I was crippled for 3 three days (I can't stay on my feet for more than an hour at a time now, back then it was a bit better).

That must be a completely different audit. The one I am talking about is grocery only.
I tried to do this one yesterday. Spent an hour at the store and then the app crapped out and wouldn't load anymore. I e-mailed the scheduler saying that I hope I will at least get paid for the time I spent there. No response from her and then she deleted the mission from my assignments. Really disappointing, especially because I've been shopping for a long time!

Pay was supposed to be $55 but I was probably not even a fifth of the way through the items in my list, which means it probably would've taken at least 5 hours in the store to get all of them.

I'm very tech savvy and efficient and I can't imagine how they are going to find people to do these ridiculous shops.
Took at shot at it today, 3 hours in had hardly made a dent in the number of items. Slowing things down was the app which was very slow loading the items. Think I'll chalk this one up to experience and cut my losses.
Helpful! I've seen the emails trying to get someone to check prices for 391 items for $78 in the Missions app and wondered about it. Since most assignments are 20-50% more work and time than estimated in the "shop notes," my instincts said this was probably something to stay away from.

Thanks to these posts giving more experiential detail, now that is confirmed. Thank you!

I do that one to. Once you get to know the store layout it's maybe 3 hours, or less. Not too bad all in all.
