Car wash shops...rain or shine

So, this is one of those things I always wonder about with the car was shops. I took one, figured the car needed cleaning and it paid a few dollars. Well, the day I picked when I grabbed it is now going to be the coldest day of our year and it will be pouring out. Won't this be the most obvious "covert" mystery shop ever?

I am happy to do it, I just feel like I would be the only one showing up for a car wash in a cold monsoon. smiling smiley Anyone every been in this situation?

The car wash I like to shop closes in bad weather, so I have to report it closed. I prefer to reschedule if possible.
I would ask your scheduler. One company I do them for says not to go when a regular person wouldn't go. The other company wants it done regardless of the weather.
@Threemom I actually did send out an email to the scheduler, and I do think this is the kind of place that would close in this type of weather, so we will see what they say. Just think it is kind of funny if it is rain or shine.

I have a Nissan. One weekend, I had it parked under a tree. I walked to all of my destinations that weekend. By Monday, my Juke was covered in bird crap, It rained all day, and after work, I took it to Nissan for a car wash (free, not a shop). The car wash area wasn't busy, but it wasn't empty.

I do these regardless of the weather. Only been commented on it one time; just told the girl that I spilled gas when I filled the tank.

There are a lot of things that rain won't take off that a car wash will. For myself I don't care if the car looks a little dirty but I was doing a shop in the rain once when another customer commented to me that his wife made him bring it in before they went to a wedding that night because the rain didn't get it clean enough. It's a good excuse if you ever get the side eye.
I try to only take car wash shops when the weather will be good. After all, that is usually the primary value of the job. I won't take them when the weather is too cold because I don't want to deal with water getting in the locks and freezing. There was one time I made an exception on a rainy day. The required wash was really closer to detailing with a lot of focus on the interior. My trunk and inside windows really needed cleaning.
