Couldn't be more obvious if you tried!

So I'm doing an energy provider shop last night at a big box. I'm doing my observations and getting my photo of the table when I notice this other shopper acting off. She's walked past me and the table at least 4 times that I've noticed in the span of about 45 seconds. She's alone and talking very loudly to herself about how she's going to make this 20 minutes count that she needs to stay in the store for "the shop". So I lose track of her and complete my shop but just as I am, she's back in the area. I hang around to hear her say to the guy at the table "I've walked by you 6 times now and you haven't even attempted to stop me. You better hope I'm not your mystery shopper because you're definitely going to fail." She then let him go through the sales speech. I had to run to another shop but I really wanted to wait and see if she proclaimed that she was the shopper after all at the end lol.

LOL! What if she was just the decoy for someone else?

LOL! Report to read: Employees great, did whole sales attempt. She probably did that because it is easier to give a passing shop then to explain all that went wrong?? I dunno. I hate to report things that are wrong, but I mean, that kind of IS OUR JOB.

Wow. That is pretty obvious.

There have been times where the service has been so bad that I wish I could go, "Hey, hint, hint, I heard you get shopped, hint, hint!"

Maybe she was at that point.
I have had to write two negative reports this month, and was thanked...yes, more work, but that is our job, if everything always went well, we may not have an industry, just saying. Different stuff happening keeps us on our toes, but now, I'm always looking for something to happen.....

There are some shops that I had been doing for years, and everything went well, and then.... The next CSR did such a poor job (in fact telling me why she was being demoted) that I said to myself, "Now I know why they pay me to do this." I have had that kind of thought a few times. I am amazed when it happens, and yes, it is more work to report poor performance.

I had to report on a grocery shop this week, where you are supposed to report on whether or not you were greeted by any associate within 10 feet of you. Usually, these shops go just fine. But not this one. There was an associate packing out cheese, and I stood 3-4 feet from him, once on his right side and once on his left, for about 45-50 seconds. He never said a word to me or acknowledged me. Even when I looked at him, he was looking at something else. I hated reporting it, because I thought for sure I'd get questioned on it. But I ended up getting a "9" from the MSC ... the company that RARELY gives out a 10, and usually gives out an 8! So I hope the associate gets some gentle re-training and all turns out well!
I just got back from my lunch where last month they didn't de-vein the shrimp....today everything was great, so glad one of my fave's isn't going downhill, or they took care of the problem, really enjoyed it. Today will be a very good report.

So they must've taken your prior report to heart, Irene! That's good news, isn't it? And encouraging to us as MSers. Glad you had an enjoyable meal today!
Yes, everything was tip top today, great lunch...don't be afraid to say what's wrong, a good restaurant is paying for our expert reports......I had that problem with the shrimp last month, not today,

I still remember doing a shop at a grocery store near me. At the time, it was the closest store to where I lived, and was where I did the bulk of my grocery shopping. There was a customer service rep there who was ALWAYS unfriendly and usually confrontational unless it was a very simple inquiry.

The shop required a visit to the customer service desk to ask a question, which I did early in the shop with no issue. When I checked out, an item scanned at the wrong price. There had been a tag on the shelf but the item was advertised at a lower price in the circular. It was a new variety but it fit the size parameters and the ad said "all varieties." I went back to customer service, where I was assisted by this unfriendly rep. I was fought tooth and nail to get this issue resolved, which ended with me getting the item for free. You would have thought the money was coming out of her pocket. I was very pleased to be able to put all of this in my report.
