Airport access

I had to start a thread to find out how you get access to airport jobs. I'm flying soon and have jobs, but need access and no one tells me what I have to do...help please!

I’ve used Delta, Jet Blue & Southwest to purchase a fully refundable ticket. Do your shops, call the airline & cancel your ticket. I’ve even visited the gate & the employee cancelled it for me. Easy!
Irene I am not sure what the question is. If you are flying then you have access with your ticket. If you need to go to a different terminal than the one you are flying out of and you are at LAX you can walk post security from Tom Bradley to Term 8.. Bring your good walking shoes though as it is a long walk. Also, if your job is in the terminal with Southwest you are allowed to cancel a senior ticket and get your money back.

I'm actually flying, so my ticket is access, never did an airport and only doing some food shops as I'll be there with time on my hands.I'm flying Burbank to Vegas. I think I have the answer.

Getting a refundable ticket is genius

via CSE, I went through the process to become badged. It was rigorous in CO, but I got through. Had to go through all kinds of security training, and how to assist anyone in the airport during an emergency. CSE paid for the entire process. Then, I completed 10 jobs in one day, got good ratings, then they told me I had to send back ALL the information, and my ID to them. Never offered up again, nor reasoning behind this.
I decided not to get badged, don't go to enough airports, so, having a ticket and flying, I am able to do some jobs.
That is awful having you go through all that.

Irene, the badge from CSE is only good in the one airport you live near and plan to work in. You cannot get access to anywhere else with their badge so for you it might be Burbank if they do that one. Like amberg.. said you do 10-12 jobs each time...mostly short interactions. Since you live in the LA area you might be able to be badged at more than one airport but personally I do not think the long drive to lax is worth it for you. I only do them because it is a short drive for me. The badging process here did not include any training for helping people at the airport. I did it in the beginning of 2018 so perhaps they added that since. I did have to get fingerprinted and evidently my fingerprints have 'worn down" or something over the years so that process had to be repeated several times. That was a pain.
CSE had to return all badges at Logan airport because Westfield is not the concession management anymore. CSE has no control over this. New management is taking over at Logan next year. You have to be badged every two years in Boston. I do not know at this time who will manage or if they will have Mystery Shoppers.

Thx, I decided not to get badged. I'm traveling from Burbank (Bob Hope airport) to Vegas and thought I had to be, Isposos emailed me and said he'd let me know when jobs from Burbank airport come in, and I have a connection to Vegas airport. Glad I don't have to get badged, I'll never drive to LAX for this...major hassel.

Amber, the company that was contracting CSE to do the shops at DIA decided to take it on themselves. Everyone who shopped that airport had to turn their badges in.

Even a non-refundable ticket with Delta or Southwest can be canceled and refunded within 24 hours. I do this every time!
Okay, I want to make sure I am really understanding this. Are you all saying you can buy a refundable ticket, get a seat assignment, check in at the airport, get a boarding pass, get through security, do your shop(s), and then call or go to the gate and cancel, and there is no financial penalty at all? What do you give as your reason when cancelling?

I just buy a regular ticket the same day as my shop. Use the boarding pass to get through the security gate and then call the airline to cancel. Since it's within 24 hours, it's refunded immediately. That usually don't ask for a reason but if they do, my plans changed. It's the same day ticket traveling on the same day it's not that big of a deal. I don't mess with refundable tickets I just buy same day with a much later departure time and then cancel soon as I get through security.

As a warning, while this may work for some airlines, it won't work on all (buying a regular/cheapest ticket the day of and relying on the 24-hour cancellation allowance). I know that for many airlines, the 24-hour cancellation window doesn't exist for tickets purchased with fewer than 24 hours to departure. Make sure to double-check that specific airline's policies. I'd hate to see someone try this and accidentally lose $200 on their shop.
I fly Southwest and they have cancellation with the ticket being used another time. I have cancelled many times and they always do this, never refund your money, your able to use the purchased ticket up to a year?
I actually am using a "refunded" ticket from a cancelled trip....what am I missing?
