Irene I am not sure what the question is. If you are flying then you have access with your ticket. If you need to go to a different terminal than the one you are flying out of and you are at LAX you can walk post security from Tom Bradley to Term 8.. Bring your good walking shoes though as it is a long walk. Also, if your job is in the terminal with Southwest you are allowed to cancel a senior ticket and get your money back.

Getting a refundable ticket is genius

Okay, I want to make sure I am really understanding this. Are you all saying you can buy a refundable ticket, get a seat assignment, check in at the airport, get a boarding pass, get through security, do your shop(s), and then call or go to the gate and cancel, and there is no financial penalty at all? What do you give as your reason when cancelling?

I just buy a regular ticket the same day as my shop. Use the boarding pass to get through the security gate and then call the airline to cancel. Since it's within 24 hours, it's refunded immediately. That usually don't ask for a reason but if they do, my plans changed. It's the same day ticket traveling on the same day it's not that big of a deal. I don't mess with refundable tickets I just buy same day with a much later departure time and then cancel soon as I get through security.
