For alcohol and tobacco compliance shops my understanding is the shopper must be of legal age. I could be wrong.

The account that I did with my child required him to be 17 when the legal age was 18 to buy cigarettes.

Neither he nor I felt bad at all. Every single cashier had to override his ID to sell to him. He had a perfectly valid ID that said he was 17 and also responded honestly when asked if he was 18 or not. The ID was scanned and showed a prompt on the screen that said to not sell to him, yet they did 1 out of every 4 times. He did not wear glasses, have facial hair or wear a hat. The ID is vertical for goodness sake and has a big red stripe across it because he was not 18 years old. What else do you need?!

So, fired, not retrained. There was really no excuse. That's the store's policy.

There are other age-compliance shops, but this one required the buyer to be one year younger than the legal age to buy.
She only has a few years and she can do the movie theater and video game shops. I have one kid that loves them and another that won’t touch them. That’s what is so great about our “side hustle,” everyone only does what works for them.

I won’t do those junky ten dollar reveal ones, but I’ll clean the board of everything else. This is one shop that can really rake in the dough so don’t undervalue your worth.

@Megs7521 - My teen is 17 and will be 18 next fall. Assuming the junky $10 ones are the ones with Sutter? Does anyone know of any MSCs looking for 17 year olds for compliance shops?

@tlin Confero does some compliance shops with 17 years old for a large theater chain. The starting pay ($12.00) is low but it's usually bonused quite a bit. I've seen them offer bonuses as high as $75.

Thanks!
I am ready for a spate of other-end compliance shops. I want a) not to be asked to prove that I am an old bag and b) to get paid for this. Bring on the old-age ID compliance shops!
