Does anyone else have difficulty noticing and remembering if someone wore glasses?

I don't generally have a tough time with the other descriptors but I have such a tough time noticing if glasses are worn and remembering it for the report...

That's because you don't see the glasses. You see the eyes. Train yourself to look for the color of the frames when you look for the color of the hair.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
What a good tip! I need to do that, and I'm no newbie, lol.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I'm going to remember that tip too cuz I have had problems with that also and I too am not a newbie.
How would you answer if someone wore them resting on top of their head and not covering their eyes? (So they wear glasses, but didn't have them completely on at the time... )

I would still say yes. The person still wears glasses.

Interesting discussion point. I say no, because they were not worn at the time.
I always have a hard time. If I forgot to make my note about it, I can close my eyes and picture the person but not be positive about glasses!
When I see glasses, I immediately make a mental note and say to myself, Jenny wore glasses, and it's funny, but somehow I then remember, I also write it down, I always carry a book type with paper inside for notes...or put it in my phone along with name, description, usually I remember if I tell myself first off...frames are pretty outstanding these days.

Live consciously....
Me, too; I write down a "G". Just any old where.

I always put somewhere in comments that "Person's glasses were in pocket, not being worn", etc.

Then if it's a guy, M/B for moustache/beard.
Same message as below. Grrr the reply and quote buttons are not my friends.

I say yes. The glasses were worn, but in an atypical spot.

How about on a chain/whatever around the neck?
I do ok with remembering physical features. Glasses stand out to me - I love cool frames and have a sunglass & rx wardrobe.
I only say they are wearing glasses if they are wearing them over their eyes. I might make a comment about a nose piercing, or purple hair.
Me too! I always make a mental note to look and see if there are glasses. But if I can't write it down right away, I get home or even just to my car and I FORGET if they had on glasses! In such a short time! I remember everything else: height, age, body type, hair color/style....have such a hard time remembering glasses.

So the tip about the color of the frames is a great one!

I have almost that exact system. But I don't look at my notes in the shop. I almost always check my notes when I get back in the car. And sometimes I have to go back in and check for glasses.

in your notes first thing I write is a g then strike thru if no glasses
It is one of the few things I have trouble remembering/ I always have to take a note right away and make sure to put it in my own guidelines when shops ask it.

On a related side note I also have to remember to take my glasses off before doing the Sunglasses shops such as Solstice or Sunglass Hut (Its been years since I've done that one).

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I text it to myself but on rare occasions I forget to do that..... then when I am filling out the report, I am in a quandry: Which is worse? Saying she wore glasses when she did not? Or saying she had no glasses on when she clearly wears glasses? Either way, BIG problem!

I struggle with myself on that one back and forth and then invariably pick NO because maybe she wore contacts that day? tongue sticking out smiley

I'm in the same boat...unless I make a note of it immediately, glasses are the one thing I struggle with remembering. I seem to have an easier time with exact quotes than I do with glasses.

"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl -- year after year..."
Glasses worn on top of the head or on a chain are usually readers. Do those count as "wearing glasses"?

I had a shop recently where I am 95% certain that the cashier had glasses when I saw her as I entered, but no glasses when I checked out. Does she wear glasses?

If it's a narrative description rather than a checkbox and you're unsure whether the person wore glasses you can always resort to ambiguity and say "no unusual characteristics".

I hate the glasses question.
It's jus\t part of my routine now to look for name, height, hair color, hair length, and glasses when I first see a person, on almost any shop. I start repeating a silent mantra of something like Henry, 5'9", short brown hair, glasses." I repeat this until I can write it down, either on my phone or in my car. If I I don't make a note of glasses, then they weren't there, as far as I am concerned.
See my name? I not only mention they are wearing glasses, but down to the brand, style name and what type of lenses they are wearing, /tinted, clear, Anti-reflective coating, Distance, reading , bifocals or progressive, far sighted , near sighted and/or astigmatism . Hope they will stop asking. Funny for Five Guys they want to know if the females have mustaches and beards.
I have trouble remembering all parts of the description. In most stores/restaurants if I was not able to provide a note to myself ,which always would include glasses or not ,after the interaction I look back thru the window or from my table if it is a restaurant and find the person and add the complete description. Inside a restaurant I usually have a way to hide a napkin in a book or whatever and write it down.
I would only include glasses if they were actually worn on the eyes. They do not want to know if the person has bad eyes but if the person regularly wears glasses so they can figure out who it is. If the person has them in a pocket or on top of their head or wears contacts it does not indicate to me that person usually wears glasses or even that what I am seeing are actually glasses or maybe just readers worn very occasionally for the type of job they have.
The issue I struggle with is sunglasses. This often is a once in a while thing and the person does not regularly wear glasses. I cannot tell if they are prescription or not so I check yes and then write in the narrative that they wore sunglasses.
I do not know how many times I have had to go back in a shop just to see if my cashier had on glasses.
Yep, me too. I have had to go back in to do a quick "glasses" check because for some reason I just can't remember. If I have a cheat sheet, I include B/M/Gl for beard, mustache, or glasses as part of the descriptor and circle it ASAP, if I can remember. If not, it's back in to take one more look at the phone, computer, stove or whatever so I can check.
