When my PV-500 failed two years ago, the MSC for whom I had eight jobs assigned, sent me a touch screen unit that recorded the first shops in 31 second files and in reverse. I lost the shops, as I was never able to operate the unit. Fortunately, a chap in N. Carolina was able to repair my DVR. If/when my existing PV-500 meets its final demise, unless I am able to comprehend these new units or locate a used pre-2011 model, I will bow out of audio/video work. I am not opposed to change, but only when it is an improvement, not change for change's sake.
