Near Misses

So watching the evening NY news last night, I realized I had two near misses this week. Yesterday morning I drove down the highway like I normally do to do some shops up another highway...didn't notice anything unusual. Well, on the news they showed video of that very same highway that morning. There were tons of accidents and cars stopped mid highway with people scrambling about on the roadway collecting money that fell out of an armored vehicle...ha ha...I would have been all over that one...but saw nothing. BTW, they are checking video for car plates to get the $$ back.

Next news report was video of an Exxon station that was robbed at gun point. I'm saying, boy that looks familiar. Yep, I had been there that afternoon. Ya just never know. I seem to float along through life and miss a lot of stuff..some good, most not good.

My question is...how did the truck drop the money? I haven't heard on the news yet.

You are lucky! Can you imagine being in a store shopping it and it gets robbed? I am glad you are safe!

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Malfunction of the door...

On the news a gas station that I have been to had a computer glitch and was dispensing gas as something like 5 cents a gallon. Most people would think, "Man, I wish I was there!" My thought was, "Man, I'm glad I wasn't there! I would never have made it to the required $5 worth!"
I would be filling everyone else up. But then the msc would probably say you bought 100 gallons and you did not care. they would not beleave the price.

There was a shooting in the grocery store parking lot. I was supposed to be there doing a shop. Tammy Lee from Second to None just kept talking and talking, making me miss my shopping window and possibly saving my life. smiling smiley

I rescheduled without penalty.

Guess you owe Tammy Lee a great big "THANKS!" Phew....that sounds like it was TOO close for comfort!
I mentioned in another thread about the double homicide at an apartment complex I audited recently. And it was next door to the police station. Creepy.

A few years back I was watching TV news of a standoff between the Sheriffs and some guy in an apt somewhere in my area. Then they pulled the camera back and I recognized my mom's mop out on the balcony below the apt where the guy was. Fortunately she was out of town. They closed down the local streets and freeway. The guy shot the sheriff. The next day I went over to my mom's house. The manager told me her apt was fine. I went inside and discovered the police had used her apt for a staging area. There were holes in the walls where they had threaded microphones up to the apt above. Her hallway was under water as the guy in the apt had run his bath to overflowing to cover noise. Her entire walk in closet was on her bed and floor etc. and every towel she owned was sopping up water in the bathroom. I was so glad she was not there that day.
