I have to go to a big box warehouse today to pick up some items.I remember seeing a shop for the location so I went to the MSC site and read the 12 pages of guidelines. The shopper fee was a whopping $5 reimbursement. At a bulk warehouse.

Now I see why these are still on the boards. That's not even a reasonable coupon.

Is this the place that has toilets, showers, cabinets and kitchen designs? I did this one. I did not like it. There was nothing to buy for $5 so I bought one drawer knob! Try to explain that one to the cashier. I just said I wanted to see if it matched. I still have it 3 years later in the plastic package.

Maybe. This was BJ's Wholesale. One of the prepared salads that I bought is $5.99. That may be the least expensive item in the store.

Sunny and Honny...you should be an act together with those names. Anyway, you can use your knob(s) to make a nice board to hang things on. Just finish a piece of wood nicely and screw one or several different knobs into it and voila a beautiful place to hang necklaces, scarves, small clothing etc.

Do these warehouse stores have snack bars? Would it be acceptable to purchase something like a slice of pizza and/or a beverage?

Openel, they do have snack bars, but the shopper had to make the purchase with the cashier. The shopper couldn't even use the self service lane.

No. For a $5 reimbursement, I didn't even finish reading the guidelines.

OK good. I thought that I was missing something here.

Depending on how easy the shop and report was I would look at the reimbursement as a down payment on something I would be buying anyway.

When I started out I took jobs that I would now never take. They had little or no financial risk and got my feet wet to the point where now I can plunk down four figures a month knowing I'll get it reimbursed. I don't get offended by jobs I'm not interested in -- I just don't apply for them.

Kathy, the guidelines alone were 12 pages. While I read everything digitally, that was a colossal waste.

Not worth it.

The shop was a $5 reimbursement and no fee. I bought a 5 quart programmable crock pot for $12. The shop would have made it $7. What is $5 a down payment on?

Not worth it.

There were at least 5 pictures involved. Some of them were to be taken discretely, but very close to employees and customers.

I do not do reimbursement shops period. And for $5.00 would not leave the house. I t takes time to go to a store, look around and fill out the report. Can you do all of the above in 45 minutes or less? If not you are way below the mimumin wage.

To each his own. I did a Walmart $3 one yesterday because I was in the store. Two questions.
And some of us do not measure the minimum wage. Heck I would say most in this venture do not consider that... or you would not be doing short-term piecemeal work. Leave the work for those of us that don't mind quick fast ones.
As for reimbursement .... some of us literally still do work for food. Not ashamed to do so either!

Canada, I'll do the $3 5 minute app shops, too, if I'm right in the store. To me, that's worth it. But I wouldn't leave my house to go to a store for a $3 job. To me, that's different.

Some reimbursement or coupon shops are worth doing, especially in context.

I was going to be in the store, so I wanted to do a shop. A decent coupon would have been icing on the cake for my $12 Crock Pot. $5 and all those pictures? NEXT!

Everyone has a different trigger. Or it takes a different level of water to float the boats.

Very true, but this shop was NOT for me. I can't even project the type of shopper who would do this, but someone will.

I'm a candle fiend so I love those coupon app shops for Bed Bath and Beyond. Ask one question and take a screenshot of the coupon. I got a large Yankee Candle, on clearance, for .32 last week!

fuji, that is a perfect example of context! There was something you wanted, and you got a coupon to significantly lower the price. I wish that was the case at BJ's!

Over the Christmas holidays, BJ's had their "Buy $100, get $25 and a 20% coupon" sale. Plus, this week's coupon is for half price entree with purchase of entree and two drinks.

The price for the reimbursement increased to $10. The shops are still on the boards.
