Unless they're calling you specifically, why waste any of your time responding, when lots of these scheduler texts and emails were mass-sent?
Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Unless I was already planning to eat at the particular restaurant, I would not do it. I certainly would not make a special trip. If I was going to be across the street and thought that I would enjoy the food for lunch, I might consider it.

LOL. I'm the ONLY shopper for some of these rural areas. I replied, asking for bonus/travel funds. None available, LOL.
I guess I should mention the current reimbursement is in the $6 plus tax range. And I do NOT like the food.

You are not lazy! You are selective. And, I hear you. I have done a few assignments in Nebraska over the years. Personally, I love the open spaces and the far-flung locations. This is why I live where I live! For profitable mystery shop days, it is not so easy or fun here, where you live, and in other parts of the region. (But I love the open spaces, so I stay.).

Yes Irene and Cease your time is worth more than that. It is not laziness at all. At that rate of pay you would be losing money unless you were already literally less than a few minutes drive away. $5 at what some consider a minimum wage in many states is 1/3 of an hour. You probably spent that much time just answering the phone and then trying to get that scheduler off the phone.

I do, too.
Where I live, 45 miles away means 45 minutes away -- not 3 hours, as some shoppers experience. I spent half of last year in Salt Lake City, and I'm not kidding -- just going 2 miles to get to a grocery store would take 15-20 minutes of driving.
And I really like the people here, too.
And the bonuses can be real money.

If didn't like the food it would take a lot of money for me to do it.
If I didn't like the food I would need a substantial fee. If I liked the food and was there anyway, I would do the job.
I am the only shopper around this rural area. A couple Grocery store shops sit on the job board month after month. Reimburse $15 plus $10 fee.
When I get a substitute teaching assignment in one of those towns, I send them an e-mail and request the job on the site.
I don't request extra, just let them know I will be in that town on that day. They don't even respond usually. So before I head home I cancel the application.
They don't really need it done it seems.

Say, Prince, why not just call them and ask for the job? That way, normally, you get an answer right away.

I'm doing a 4$ burger place a mile from home, happens I love it and would eat there on my own dime, so, totally depends on which place, if you like it, if you want a quick lunch, if it's not about the $$ but about the food.

It would be hard to get excited about $6 and bad food. It's not volunteer work-- this effort isn't helping anyone in need. You are normal, not lazy.

To me, this shop doesn't even qualify as "filler".
This happens to be a very subjective decision.
I will not perform a shop if I do not enjoy doing it. For example, except for breakfast, I refuse to shop Sonic regardless of the bonus. My shopping is 100% supplemental to my full time job that I am fortunate to have. The majority of food shops fit into my limited schedule surrounding my work hours. I am on commission, but enjoy getting away from work for lunch or dinner. Even hitting a client on the way to or from work. I am also fortunate to live and work in two areas that have more than enough opportunities.
To me, the cell phone shops are not appealing. There is no way to ensure I can be there for about 20 minutes then on my way. Those $5 average fee shops would not work for me even on a day off, even if bonused.

Sprint did a hard credit check on me while doing a job, shouldn't have happened. I reported it and it was taken off my credit, no more phone jobs for me, it was a hassle I don't need.....one man's poison is another's steak. Most don't pay enough for a hassle.

When you apply for a phone I am pretty sure it is standard practice to run a hard credit check. Of course this should also be disclosed.
