Has anyone done the 60 dollar bank shop?

Just curious if there is a catch or if it is as simple as just opening an account

I have. It's that simple. Open account; make report. They check your credit. My credit score has not budged one point and I have opened several bank accounts over the past 2 years.

Easy shop. Important point: DO NOT FORGET TO SUBMIT AN INVOICE ON MARITZ SITE. This is how you will get paid; usually within 2 weeks.
Easy to do. There is a limit on the number of open checking and savings account that you can have at that bank.

Not sure which bank it is, but I always try to double dip bank bonuses and mystery shopping with opening bank accounts. Most you have to keep the account open for 6 months, but it's easy money.
Mostly these are no-brainers until you get a bank that requires a monthly large minimum amount direct deposit.
Since most of the accounts can be closed within a few days, that is not a problem. Just open the account, take the form to initiate the DD with you to fill out "later." Close the account when the 3-5 day waiting period is over. ALSO, if you are 65 or older, many banks waive that requirement.

I did one awhile ago, easy, open account, easy report and I closed account a week later. How often can you do it, anyone know.

Live consciously....
I've done the shops.

Interesting consequence: I recently went to my hometown bank to open an account, and was refused. They said I had too many "closed accounts".

LOL!!!
Irene,
It appears to depend on the client. For one client, it's one-and-done. For another it has a rotation of a few months for the checking account, but you can open several savings accounts. I only know about those 2. But, I have done 2 credit union ones at somewhat lower fees so that I would qualify for well paid other shops for those clients. But both have now terminated they MS programs. (Was it something I said???)

There was a thread about this a few months ago. If you do enough of these, you won’t be able to open a “real” account when you really need one.

HUGE flaw in design. Need to rethink that one. There is one bank account shop that they will cancel your application as soon as it comes in as to not affect your credit/ ability to get the credit card at a later date.
I've done bank shops at four different banks for four different MSCs in the last three years.

One MSC now has a shop to close an account. It also has an open an account shop. That would be great since that bank charges a $14 monthly charge on their checking accounts unless certain criteria are met.

A credit union opened a couple of miles from my house, so I opened a checking and savings account there. All of a $25 investment. Used the account to do several shops. I hope the shops return at some point.

I just received a $300 + $200 voucher (in the mail) to open a checking account or a savings account at one of the major banks. Have until April to think about it.
IS it the one that if you do both, you get a $100 bonus? I am trying to do it. To qualify you not only have to open the accounts, but start direct deposit for the checking account and you have to deposit $15,000 into the savings account and leave it there for at least 90 days.
