Check Cashing SCAM Alert!

Hi Shoppers!
We were made aware today of a check cashing scam alert using ClientSmart in the paperwork and Walmart. The shoppers are receiving a check VIA USPS Priority Mail. The instructions say to cash the check and wire VIA a MoneyGram Transfer at Walmart most of the funds back to a person specified in the letter. THIS IS A SCAM! Please do not fall for it. These people are criminals! We are looking into what actions we can take to stop this from happening further. Unfortunately, this scam has been going on for many, many years with different mystery shopping companies and affiliates. ClientSmart is a software company. ClientSmart does not schedule mystery shops. Regardless, no one affiliated with ClientSmart would participate in this type of shop. The few shops I've seen involving cash checking or something similar do not involve the company sending you a check to cash. IF you get a random check in the mail from a company claiming to do mystery shopping work, DO NOT ASSUME it's legitimate! And, always use the philosophy if it sounds to good to be true it probably is a SCAM!

We're hoping no one falls for this latest one. Unfortunately, the shopper ends up being out hundreds of dollars when the check does not clear and they've sent funds to the company. They purposely have the funds sent promptly so there's not time for the check to bounce.

Thanks for your time in helping to stop this crime!
The ClientSmart Team

A couple weeks ago, I received a USPS Money Order for $1,000 with instructions to deposit it and buy $800 in iTunes cards.

It arrived via Priority Mail, and was purportedly from Kendall, Inc.

I immediately turned it over to the Postal Inspectors.

The Postmaster went over that MO with a magnifying glass, and could NOT tell it was a fake.

Easy to see how someone could fall for this
