New AT&T Purchase Shop

Has anyone done this shop yet? It just appeared in the last month and requires you to start service and/or purchase a phone. It says you can return the phone if you follow the guidelines. How difficult is it to return a phone and cancel your service if you don't want to stick with them? It's a decent payment, so just wondering how much trouble it would be?

I did it on Sunday. I let the rep go through the sales pitch on the phone and the service. I paid for it on my credit card and left. I ran some errands, then returned in the required hour for the return. Dude acted like I kicked his dog, but the return was processed. Minus the $45 fee, everything was fully refunded.

The reports were simple. There was one report for the purchase. It had maybe three narratives that were short. Upload both receipts and the business card.

I saw these and immediately put them on my 10-foot pole list. The MSC wants the shopper to take all the risk for the canceling/return being approved. No thank you.
wwin, if you return according to the guidelines, there won't be any issues.

I kept the phone in the package, unopened and in my purse. The $45 restocking fee is reimbursed.

A shopper can also opt to do the TV part instead of the cell.

The sales people are paid on commission so I just wouldn't want to do that to them. I've not minded doing the shops for the sales interaction but I would just hate to do a return.
The restocking fee goes to the salesperson. They get paid when the service is canceled. We get reimbursed their fee by the MSC.

The shopper had a choice of doing a cell purchase or TV service. I didn't pay too much attention to the TV (cable) service portion since I did the cell. Basically, you sign up for the TV service, evaluate the sales pitch, and cancel in 14 days.

For all the shops, you can opt to keep the service, but it would be out of your pocket.
