Surprised you weren't offered $300 for the shop (afterall)...@MFJohnston wrote:
A scheduler called me and talked to me about them a little. I wasn't interested (I don't really do "revealed" shops.) However, he said that they figured they'd take a couple of hours on-site and were very detail-oriented. I did not ask any questions or press for information, so I don't have any more than that.
Easy solution: just pick 2 or 3 Jiffy Lubes that you trust with your car and mystery shop only those locations. Do the revealed audits on the rest of the locations.@kenasch wrote:
The problem with a reveal shop like this that it would be hard to go back for a mystery shop oil change. There are a couple of JL locations near me that I want to continue to visit for oil changes for other MSC’s.

AZ,
There is one problem with such a plan....
ALL of the Jiffy Lube locations have their computers connected so they ALL can see your vehicle's history for that little session at the computer reviewing service records. Once you do a revealed shop at one, ALL others can see any "notes" about you or your vehicle that the one where you "revealed" entered into your history. Without that shared record, they could not check to see if a vehicle qualified for the free "top up" services between oil changes!

Well, before the folks at every JL I have ever visited will check out any vehicle, they enter it into their computer. This happens because, as soon as you are greeted, the license plate info goes into the shop floor computer. No vehicle enters a shop bay without a computer entry being made. I suspect this is for liability insurance purposes.)
