I always wonder how you DONT reveal yourself after paying for sex but then not having it....or do they expect shoppers to have sex as part of this shop??? OMG.....

What happens if they say yes and you go upstairs? If the stripper agrees to the $75, and then the shopper actually follows through? You are then documenting abd illegal act. I do not understand this shop. It's so wrong on every level.

Exactly my point, do you go wherever and tell the poor woman "Sorry, I just shopped you and you are going to get fired for saying yes", or do they expect you to perform the entire shop covertly....and in this case perform would be the most appropriate word. No thanks....

Is this a IC violation by posting the guidelines?

What they don't tell you in the initial instructions is that you are supposed to get 3 separate lap dances for that $75! You will look like a real big spender.

The whole setup is a giveaway so they will know you are the shopper and not offer you anything. I wrote a rant about this about a year ago. Walked away from the shop and never looked back. There's not a pole (no pun intended) long enough.....
Would strippers actually think they are being shopped? I mean, who would ever associate secret shopping with a strip club?
To me the humorous part of the instructions is "Focus of the shop is to see if anyone agrees to selling you alcohol. " Really, alcohol is the focus when all that other illegal stuff is going on?

The two things that will get a club shut down quickest are alcohol sales and prostitution.

@Niner; it's more of an integrity shop than a mystery shop. This has absolutely nothing to do with customer service. The MSC in question should be sending in private investigators for this assignment, but they are trying to cut corners, and the client is more interested in receiving 'passing' shops than actually enforcing anything.

These clubs are rife with prostitution and drug use. It's an unfortunate side component of the industry, and it's a shame to have it connected with MSing in any way.

So do they not have an alcohol license or is it the way in which they are trying to sell alcohol that is illegal. Having never been to a sex club I have no idea. Maybe I should take the job and find out. Not serious. Girls on girls (no pun intended) allowed?

Yes, the gentleman’s clubs out in my area (not this client for this shop) is contaminated with prostitution. Pay for a dance upstairs, it’s easy to get a little play as long as you don’t give a vibe that you’re part of a sting. Good thing I’m not about that life, hah.

In most locations, full nudity and alcohol are not allowed together. Clubs serve soft drinks or alcohol free-beers, but it's common for them to allow guests to bring in a flask or even sell small bottles to add to sodas on the sly.

Actual bars in L.A. that have strippers are so-called 'Bikini bars' because the girls have to keep a bra and panties on at all times. While those can be seedy...they don't have the prostitution and other issues that fully nude clubs (like the ones being shopped) have, and or more often frequented by (hipster) couples.

A bikini bar near me in Hollywood was featured on "The Layover' a few years ago and quickly because a very popular tourist destination. There's now a line of people waiting to get in on weekend evenings....
Where I used to live in Florida, all strip clubs were fully nude and alcohol was served. It's been a long time since I lived there, but when I did that's how it was. And I went with a few of my guy friends a few times, no big deal.
Yes, it is real. It's totally not my cup of tea (I think these establishments frown upon video), but it is real.

So many issues here....
1. So... you make your proposition and purchase the VIP room... You then change your mind? I just don't see how that could ever end well...
2. So... You make your proposition and purchase the VIP room... You then... don't change your mind. Is the MSC going to pay for ... certain medical care that might arise?
3. So... You make your proposition and purchase the VIP room... You ten ... find yourself in a sting operation?
4. So... You make your proposition, but are refused (the club has a reputation to uphold, after all). Do you then get "escorted" out by the bouncer? Do you still get paid if you, therefore, can't complete the shop? Are medical bills covered?
5. So... You are the type of person who does this sort of thing anyhow... do you really like documenting and publishing your experience as a "guest"?

I'll speculate from afar. I have no interest in learning these answers and more through experience.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
So it's for a chain, right? I assume that they are going in to it with the logic that the staff is trained to remove people quietly/peacefully. That being said....I sure would not take that risk.

I thought about that guy..... but it's my understanding she performed oral sex on him twice but no full blown sex. tongue sticking out smiley
This would all go away if he just came out and said he was there on a mystery shop!

Now that's funny.

Is the client the local law enforcement agency, I wonder?

You are never going to get paid for this. $90 reimbursement, $25 tips, $75 lap dance, $200 at the table, so that's a total of $390. The scam is to get you to spend at least $390 (and maybe more, you spend $500 cause you think $390 of it is reimbursed) and then never contact you again. Even if they get 4 people to fall for this it's like 2 grand for the club. Stay Away!

While I would not do this job, any shopper who does will get paid. It’s scheduled by a legimate company.

Strip clubs are generally not hurting for money or clients.

Your comments sound very ignorant.
@FrugalCat What are you basing this ridiculousness on?

Well...my issue with the shop is that it's designed to be very easy to reject You need to get 100% of names The DJ, the bartender, and everyone else who has no nametag on

It's easy to shell out a few hundred before realizing you didn't or can't get the required info.
I would have no problem doing this shop. Nothing personal, it's just business.

How can they have an official bartender if they are not allowed to sell alcohol? And I would think, correct me if I am wrong, this could be one of those very loud places where you cannot hear answers to questions clearly Or maybe half of the people there have their mouth occupied with something else so not much loud talking.
