Chinese Restaurant changed MSC?

Higher-end. That's funny! The one time I shopped that chain, years and years ago, there was mold growing on the desert I ordered. Never again. Ever.
I wouldn't consider them higher end but I understand what the OP means. I don't find their food worth the cost. I think they use canned mushrooms and the chicken can be tough. I prefer their FF sister company.
The dinner budget was around $100, if I am remembering correctly, which is a lot for Chinese food.
Yep. Certainly not high end. And certainly not high quality. But, hey it is a chain; what would one expect?

Haha, well I wasn't quite sure how to phrase it best but they certainly do cost more and are one of the few Asian Chains that I can think of that costs more than the local mom and pop shops.

Higher end as to price, but not as to quality. A better term might "price exaggerated."

We used to eat at the one (on our own dime) at happy hour in Sarasota, Fl. that was the only one where the appetizers were amazing, while the ones here in CA are so so. I go often to "New Moon" a few blocks from my house and for 11.00 get great appetizers and a drink (happy hour), enjoy it all and no report. Sometimes you just gotta do what's best for you. I do think chains are different in different places, depending on the chef.

Fine dining on Chinese food has run us $300+ for two.
For that price one should be getting lobster, crispy roast duck and sea bass along with a ton of fortune cookies and all the green tea you can drink.

L.A. has Chinois on Main, Wolfgang Puck's Chinese fusion and it is expensive but worth it...of course it's not shopped, went there in my heyday for occasions. Normally I have to say $300.00 for two is a bit high for chinese.

Ugh. The few things I miss about Massachusetts since moving... Seafood, pizza, and Chinese food. Just not the same here LOL
I'm from San Francisco and we had the BEST Mom and Pop Chinese restaurants, one haunt was in Chinatown and three stories high...you didn't order, they had a dumb waiter and brought you the days specials, and when I say good, trust me, plus very inexpensive. They never gave you forks, one way to know it's authentic, and when we moved to L.A., there were no good places, so we stopped eating Chinese and started exploring Deli's, of which they are better here. We found the three best in the city and 40 years later, there still here, as good as ever. We do have many Mom and Pop Thai, but sorry not a lover. Chains just don't cut it.
