Best Buy Audits

Hoping for some insight as to how long & involved these audits are. Anyone have experience with them? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to go through the drug and background checks if they are not jobs worth doing.

Thanks, Regina

steady work but anywhere from 5 to 10 hours. Some like some don't. 2 and you get the background check reimbursed. If $10-$12 an hour works for you go for it. I don't feel they are worth it thus have never done them.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I've considered them, but there are roadblocks for me: I don't have the technology (last time I looked, required a "tablet", whatever that is, LOL); the nearest one is about 300 miles away, and no way would I drive over, spend the night, work all day at one shop and make less than $100 for my efforts

Now if there were several close together, to guarantee several day's work, I'd be more interested.
If you search the forum for "Big box store audits" you will find some other threads where more people have given their opinion on these. A lot of people dislike them, but I do at least a couple a month and enjoy it. There is a learning curve, the first audits you do will take you longer, but once you have memorized the guidelines and found a rhythm they can be done in as little as 4-5 hours if the store has few issues. That said, if a particular store has a lot of problems, you could be looking at the full 8-9 hours, as almost every individual issue has to be documented with a photo and additional information entered. You get to choose the locations you audit each month so if you do them regularly enough you will figure out which stores tend to have more problems and can simply avoid them.

As far as the tablet, you don't necessarily one to do the audits, but it helps to have the larger screen and storage space. The only requirements are that you have a device that can download the SASSIE Rover app which also has enough storage space for the required photos (anywhere from a couple dozen to a few hundred, again, depending on the number of issues), so some people are able to just use their smartphones. I think it's worth getting a tablet if you are able to, though. Amazon had Kindle Fire 7 tablets on sale for only $35 last week.
Hi-
Wow and congratulations. I just invested a bundle and learned I had no idea what the guidelines were talking about and knew I couldn't pass the test, much less have a successful audit. How did you do it?
Maryann, I had the same problems when I did my first grocery shops. Just what the heck IS a "FEM", anyway? ("Front End Manager", silly!)

The test is open book; just have those 50 pages you printed out right in front of you. You'll whiz right through, LOL!!!

And when you get to your first store, just be humble, respectful, and honest: "I haven't done one of these before, so any assistance/advice you can give me would be really appreciated."
Been doing them for years, but haven't done one in about two years. Use to do two per cycle. Both store within 15 min. drive. Occasionally do one out of state if the bonus is great about 45 mins away. Have one scheduled for next week.

Doesn't the table need internet access? How do you obtain that on a Kindle Fire?

Internet not need, but you can use the Store's wifi.

Thanks ...smith. Really though I didn't understand the instructions, the scheduler canceled the shop for me.
I seem to recall that you cannot use Kindle. I think the instructions mention this directly. It is also implied when they say android operating system or apple.
My only question is if this is an all day shop, how in the heck do you keep your tablet charged that long?

Taking the quiz, I remembered why I hate these shops and stopped doing them. I can easily put 3 shops which pays more and takes less time. I thought I can push through, but I have no desire.

Buy a portable charger. It's a phone-sized battery with a USB port. You can also use an inverter or quick-charging car charger adapter (I plug mine in when I take a break). I have not done these particular audits but I have done other all-day merchandising & audits.

Also, be sure you close all apps, reboot your phone, then only open the audit app before you start. This will help prevent apps & services from using power in the background.
