Shopper fest 2019

I was wondering if anyone has gone to previous shopper fest. This would be my first one if I go. I figured since I’ve taken on mystery shopping full time that it would be helpful, but realized that with the ticket, transportation, meals and hotel it would be an at least $1200 budget, and if it’s worth the investment or if I should just save my money.

Thanks in advance for the feedback

That's a lot of money. From where are you traveling? I'd try to cut that cost in half if not more.
Same boat except I estimated a much lower number. I'm just stingy that way.

People on these boards have mentioned getting hooked up with more specialized work by going to conferences. Or those "secret" jobs. It can be hard to put a value on building your network.
You might ant to check out the price for the October IMSC conference in Phoenix. I think SW airline has cheap flights there. Free transport to hotel from airport. Some free meals. LOTS of networking with schedulers and MSC owners. Many full time shoppers. I have been to many and ALWAYS return with new ideas that make more $$$ than the cost of the trip.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
If I were doing this full time, I'd likely go to one. However, I agree with @walesmaven that you should be able to get the cost down.... You ought to be able to get flight costs cut in half by doing them as shops. If you can stay at the same hotel as the conference, you can largely eliminate the need for transportation once there. Plus, the hotel could have a discount for conference attendees. Some folks get roommates, too.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
I have booked a 2 room Suite at Doubletree. If anyone wants to share a room, you pay one night.
