I don't know. It ALMOST happened to me once. I asked for a manager, one came out, and I pulled my "irate customer" ploy -- "American Express is going to be EXTREMELY disappointed that the Plaza is not honoring a reservation booked through them and paid for on my American Express card".
Immediately upgraded to a suite -- yeppers, the one with the 24 hour butler!
I'll be watching this thread to see what other shoppers' experiences get reported. I think this is a very interesting question!
