What shops have you regretted taking?

You know what I'm tired of doing? Little Caesar's. The ones near me are always so busy and never have any pizzas ready and it's just not worth it really.

I feel certain that the scavenger hunt shops are looking for items that are NOT suppsed to be on the shelf any longer. I tried finding a few and never succeeded.

I have actually found quite a few, mostly holiday or specialty items. I am pretty sure they are SKUs that the store or warehouse mis-entered into inventory. I do resets, and I frequently get shelf tags for "unknown/UPC 000000000000."
I turn down a lot of shops because of distance, or insulting low pay....not worth my time and effort. I don’t need a few dolllars that bad. When you add up travel, on job, and report time, it just isn’t worth it.

I also won’t do five guys...Tons of questions, very little pay.

The Five Guys shop is a sleeper! I've done so many, and I always wait for the bonus.
There is a certain MSC that I will not work for, just on an ethical basis. The way they offer me shops and then find someone who will do it cheaper after assigning me the shop and moving me to an alternate position. They used this tactic on me on several occasions. Now they are at the very bottom of my shop list. They have shops a few blocks from me every week and I know they go UNSHOPPED. Until they develop a higher code of ethics, which will be the 1st week of never. They will remain at t barrels bottom. They offer me shops often but I always add an atrious PAD. Am I being petty? I don't think so. I don't need their pitance or deceit.
I have all the work I need with very reputable companies. Who enjoy my professionalism and attention to detail.
As for The Source or whatever name they are this week. I will continue to boycott their unscrupulous tactics.
Same here. There are very few shops in my area, but there are even fewer shoppers. When they're doing these 3 meal periods, different scenarios, etc, there's no way they can get enough shoppers to fill it. The only time I've ever done it without a bonus is when we were next door and my boyfriend (who doesn't generally get the spoils of my labor lol) wanted it. I've done so many, it's like my regular job. smiling smiley

Shopping the South Jersey Shore
The shop I hate is the first time I do any shop. Any time I sign up for something totally new and/or different, I stress over it so much! I study the guidelines over and over and think of all the things I could forget or could go wrong. By the time the shop comes, I am filled with dread. When it is all over and I have finished the report, I laugh at myself and my crazy imagination. Then, I sign up for more shops just like the one I finished.
I had one targeted phone shop where the target was named Katelyn or Kathryn or something. The associate I spoke to introduced herself as Kat. Not the same.

Also, I just finished a comics shop. I forgot how ridiculous the report is for $8*.

*I did get $2 bonus, plus I'm in Canada (conversion USD).

Intellishops paint shops, but I still did them. They are painful. Not only are they extremely boring but generally low pay however I needed some extra cash. An honest buck is still an honest buck.

Also Field Agent has a alot of LONG winded shops, spent an HOUR for 7 bucks never again. It said check prices but it was really brutal!
I did this shop ONE time.sad smiley They guy was 20 minutes late. He should have been there at 3:00. The store employee kept asking if he could help me. (Um nope!) tongue sticking out smiley I think the shop paid $10 or $12.
Charles Schwab shops. Read the guidelines and the call was to be made between midnight and 6 am. Canceled it. Got a couple again that could be completed during normal day hours. I did one only and canceled the other. The guidelines were too detailed, too much information to note down and not at all worth it for 5 bucks. I'd rather do those $10 loan shops that take less than a minute.

Not sure about this: I think it was a mistake to do gas station reveal shops. With some companies, it is impossible to revert to or become a dedicated gas station mystery shopper. I live in a small town and would rather be just a person who buys gas and the occasional cuppa (or whatever) instead of 'the person who comes in here and checks everything out', which often is said through a smirk. Time will tell. If ever I have tremendous availability, I could do routes of these reveals. For now, I can only wish for anonymity.

A banking shop where I had to request information about accounts for businesses that bring in $200k+ a year. This was a branch in a "higher end" part of town. As soon as the teller asked me questions about how much I made per year, she immediately called the regional president of the bank who just so happened to have an office at the branch.

He asked me questions regarding the nature of my business, asked for a business card, asked for a website, etc. He made a comment about how he'd never met a business owner who not only had no digital footprint, but also didn't have business cards on them.

Agree, I'm sorry that must have been horrible. The worse for me was talking to a BoA financial planner, OMG that was so painful. Couldn't fake something I knew nothing about and then so stressful writing it up and I took two in the same week. UGH. I was also very green. I used to take everything to pay the bills, now I shop for fun funds, and take nothing that requires long narratives etc., or reimbursement only shops unless is it a great meal :-)

Why? I enjoyed getting a few new housewares out of it.

You must have really hated this shop since it is posted 5 times!
I fixed the unexplained duplication.

I do not hate those shops. I only wish that I could be a mystery shopper at any gas station.

I was just bringing your attention to having that post 5x! I did not think you hated the shop but that you regretted you took the reveal one so now you cannot do the non reveal ones and you regretted it 5x strong. I think many of us have clicked reply and seen nothing happening and then clicked reply again and again until it finally seemed to work. 2x or 3x or even 5x. Lots of regret.
The shop that required several visits and had something that I really wanted but had to decline and I was doing it when I had pneumonia(completing it that is). Then there was the Ikea shop which involved many departments, hard floors, disinterested employees, one closed department and a very hot summer's day. Then I went back to my job and worked until 8:00 having started at 9 Am that morning. Report was almost rejected and was only accepted since I was new. to Ikea anyway.

OMG yes! 40 minutes for a pizza made by a kid who was coughing and wiping his nose. I did not even taste a bite of that pizza.

Hard pass on all of these lately. I still have pizza in the freezer.
2 visit car negotiation shops. Too much time for stuff they don't want to give you or can't give you. I can make more doing motorcycle, atv, utv shops with a bonus.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
First time I was denied a shop. I even spent $50 as well and won't ever see my money get reimbursed. I was honest, provided good feedback and my shop was denied. The owner was abrasive, rude and unprofessional. It's an one man shop, NWPLC, owned by Doug. I also read on other threads that he was rude and obnoxious. If they expect the shoppers to be professional, then the vendor will also need to be professional and respectful. I would never use NWPLC ever again. Poor customer service skills and poor management.

I regret any shop I accept even though my warning bells go off. I also tend to regret taking multiple locations of a new shop before I get a chance to actually do one.
