Airport Shops w/ Escort

Has anyone done an post security airport job with an escort before? Are they typically there just to let you in or are they required to stay with you the whole time?
I'm thinking of possibly taking up a shop like this but it seems kind of awkward lol.

I have. In some cases, you can be given a gate pass without an escort. Technically, escorts are supposed to stay with you at all times. In reality, you just keep them updated on where you are and behave yourself. Once you are through security, no one knows you from any passenger.

It can be awkward in small terminals. I actually prefer buying refundable tickets.
TSA has escorts now? Is it to make the pat-down more friendly?

I have, and the escort had to stay with me the whole time. They didn't stay right by my side, but stayed far enough away and kept me in eyesight but they weren't staring at me the whole time. It was awkward but at least I didn't have to talk to the person the whole time, they just trailed me.
I had an escort once. He lost me when I went into a restaurant and he stayed outside. Luckily we shared cell phone numbers, but he looked concerned when we finally met up. It's a bit awkward and I felt like I was wasting his time and tried to move along faster than if I was not escorted and could take my own time.

Lol the escort is to give me access because the shops are post-security and I am not flying. I think the escort may be the client.
I did one years ago with client (a manager) as the escort. They had to keep me within their sight. I too felt like I was wasting their time and I felt like the employees could see the boss sitting nearby in the concourse so the interaction might not have been a true picture. After that, I just buy a refundable ticket.
Check with your airport, they may offer a day pass with proof of your reason for wanting one, or the MSC might arrange for one.
